Neopets Has Taken Over My Room

My night light is on.
I'm folding origami,
Tiny paper 'pets.

Half-finished attempts
Are littering the wood floor
Like an army horde.

A poster I made
Of my dearest Neopet
Hangs above my bed.

He's a Lutari
In this lab incarnation.
So handsome and wise.

I've purchased markers
And customized some T-shirts
For my friends to wear.

The T-shirts feature
Their favorite Neopet creatures
And I'm glad to give.

The shirts are drying
In one corner of my room,
Clipped to wooden boards.

Neopets plush dolls
Line my shelves and give me joy.
I plan to buy more.

Neopets has now
Taken over my bedroom.
What a happy craze!

My favorite hobby,
Neopets is truly fun.
I will never change!

Alert, Inert

Alert, the Snowager doth glide
Across the ice to which he's bound.
The serpent's mind too long has cried
For rest that's seldom to be found.

Inert, the Snowager stays still
Atop the hoard which he'd amassed,
Too weak to move but with the will
To castigate with icy blasts.

Alert, the Snowager rears up,
Emits fierce shards of ice, and roars.
Some say, on thieves, he'll batten, sup,
To ensure th' safety of his stores.

Inert, the serpent's heart grows cold
And colder still 'th each passing day,
By knowing little in his old
Age, save to guard, to fight, to prey.

Alert, the Snowager is cursed,
Confined by ice and avarice,
Forever bracing for the worst
To come, to steal, only to miss.

Inert, the worm is further trapped
Within the realms of one-eyed sleep,
Regaining energy 'twas sapped
While dreaming of his hoard to keep.

On A Lovely Day

When it is a lovely day,
I don't go outside to play.
Instead, I stay cooped up inside
And do the one thing that keeps me alive.

I log in at approximately 8 o'clock
And watch the hours pass, tick tock.
I stretch my fingers to pop the joints
So I can start gaining some Neopoints.

Fashion Fever to get it started --
This level of intensity is not for the fainthearted.
Then, onto Meerca Chase, those silly red Neggs
Getting in the way of my Meerca legs.

Onto Turmac Roll, berries galore,
My hand is getting quite sore.
I've got to keep going, I cannot give up!
Think of my family, my Lupe, my pup!

Onto the wheel, 'round it goes!
Where it lands, I sure don't know.
I want that avatar, those Neopoints, too.
How fast to spin it, I don't know what to do!

The day slowly turns to night --
My eyelids are drooping, I'm losing my sight.
But I must keep playing, I'm almost at my goal.
I have to get that potion black as coal.

I can't keep playing anymore.
I must stop, I'm tired to the core.
When I wake up tomorrow 
It will be a lovely day,
But I won't go outside to play.

The Chocolate Factory

Walking past the factory doors
I suddenly stop in my tracks;
The delicious smells are hypnotic
And I can't help but start walking back.

Through the giant doors I wander
And I feel my jaw hit the floor.
There's candy galore right in front of me --
To the right, to the left, I'm in awe.

Everything looks so delicious 
And I bet they taste great, too.
There's so many choices to make here,
I really don't know what to do!

Those Quiggle gummies are smiling at me;
Maybe I'll have some of those?
A lollipop or two might be nice...
I'll try them and see how it goes.

Should I try the chocolate next?
White, dark, milk, or mint is best.
I think I should try one of each.
That's the only sure way for me to test.

Oh dear, I've been here far too long
But I'm really not ready to leave.
I suppose I have things I should be doing...
Never mind that, I want CANDY!

No Burgers Anymore

Make way! I am so famished
And I’d like to become bloated.
If we’re ranking the best eateries,
This is the place I would have voted.

I’m waiting outside Hubert’s stand
For a chance at a gourmet hot dog.
There’s way too many others here!
With this many, I won’t be able to hog.

Oh, I can hardly wait to buy one!
Maybe three or four to go?
I just want the actual hot dog,
The bun is just that extra dough.

A nice BBQ Onion Hot Dog would do.
Or how about megachilli?
I’d even take the basic hot dog,
I don’t need it to be frilly.

My favourite is the Dessert Hot Dog,
It’s so sweet in just one bite.
If I eat any more hot dogs
I’ll be sleeping for the night!

Ooh, but I forgot about a few,
Like the the disco or the double!
Foil-wrapped or extra slim --
I can feel my belly in trouble!

Oh Hubert, now I am just stuffed!
Far too bloated for my poor tummy.
I guess it was still worth it all --
Your hot dogs really are so yummy!
