BORI DAY SPECIAL
Getting to Know the Bori
by rabbit_loves_me
I hear that Boris were found in the ice
In that cold land called Terror Mountain.
If I could give them any advice,
It would be to try warmer lands, for certain.
Boris bellies are soft and furry
Their backs are hard as a set of stacked plates.
They move around in quite the scurry
To get to the food that so pleadingly awaits.
Boris might appear to have sharp claws,
They are of course good for digging.
But what makes these claws the best of paws
Is that they’re also good for hugging!
Boris are a little timid in nature
But, I assure you, once you get to know them
They are quite the playful creatures,
Even if they can cause a little mayhem!
What makes Boris one of the greatest Neopets
Is when they roll up tight like a ball.
And it’s as cute as it gets
When they unfurl all adorable and small!

Don’t have a boring Bori day!
by horsecrazyirishgirl
Don’t have a boring Bori day!
Don’t spend it your normal way!
Find a Bori to wish him well
He might have quite the tale to tell
Bori borrow deep into the ground
To great depths that would astound.
Where nothing but darkness surrounds
Bori are not frightened by the sounds
That would lead lesser pets to turn around
Oh the things they have found!
Where only Bori abound!
The timid Bori is brave as well
And on Terror Mountain the Bori dwell
So on this Bori day,
Go hear what a Bori has to say!

The Bashful Bori
by alynda
Have you heard about the Bori,
Who is just a little shy.
He is known for being bashful,
And he's such a friendly guy.
This Bori looks after his friends,
Always lends a helping hand.
He asks for nothing in return,
The gratitude enough is grand.
Folks try to get to know him,
Though he often shies away.
It's not that he's impolite,
He's simply got not much to say.
This type of Pet is special,
Looking for ways that he can aid.
If you meet this bashful Bori,
He'll ensure your debts are paid.
Being bashful is unusual,
It's not a common skill.
Don't judge this Bori by its nature,
They're full of such good will!

Boring Boris
by missynom
So when I saw a Bori
For the first time, long ago
I knew I didn't like them
Didn't want one oh, no no
Over the years I often saw
People who adored them all
Collecting lots of boring Boris
Some large, some very small
Occasionally I saw them
Stranded, unloved in the pound
Couldn't bring myself to like them
There was just no way, no how
Then one day with a fateful zap
My opinion changed for good
For my pet was now a boring Bori
Covered in flowers and made of wood
And that was it my darlings
I can't make this any simpler
From the moment I had one of my own
I was totally smitten with her
So it's back to the lab with my Bori
Hoping for something spooky and cool
No longer do I think they're all boring
My new Bori, the exception to the rule

Boris the Bori
by handuran
"Boris the Bori, will you read us a story?"
The excited petpets exclaimed.
Boris gave a nod, and off he trod
To reach the book that was appropriately named.
"So today, we shall read... My Friends & Me"
And with that, he flicked through the pages.
Chanting the lines, until the time was gone nine
And the petpets had fallen asleep.
"Boris... B-b-oris..." whispered one voice
From the corner of the darkened room.
Boris looked over, and smiled moreover
At the resistance of his friend's reluctance to rest.
He carefully plodded over, and tucked the Warf into bed
"Please go to bed--"... "But, Boris?" "Go ahead."
"Happy Bori day," the eager Warf yapped away.
"You really are the best Boris", he quipped again.
The Bori smiled, his eyes damp with emotion
He stroked the Warf's head, and gave him his favourite ted.
"Thank you very much" ... "I am rather most touched."
And he strolled to his own bed, closed the book.
Today's chapter was done.

B-O-R-I
by dawgcpa
Beautiful
Original
'Rful (slang for "wonderful")
Imaginative
This describe this Neopet,
Who could easily own a Petpet.
Jumps up and down, filled with glee,
Who go with packs, count 1, 2, 3,
And joined Hannah in her marvelous adventure.
They look like a armadillo, true,
But they come in colors like royal, baby, blue.
They can also write, play with toys, yes,
But being friendly is their trait best.
Can you guess what they are now?
Protective backs, to cushion any falls,
If need-be, ground-breaking yells and calls.
Skinny tails, shorty snouts,
And it almost never pouts.
Except if it's painted baby.
Now with all these fantastic clues,
Pick what you think, whatever you choose.
Guessing, guessing, what a hard decision,
Can you guess the species with fast precision?
Why, it's a BORI!

A Mythical Encounter
by ladygaladriel213
Cold seeps through your boots, it nibbles at your toes.
You feel it in your numbing hands, and it burns at your chapped nose.
The wind whistles louder now, filling your ears with song.
The music of winter guiding your steps, but something around you seems wrong.
The frozen landscape surrounds you, the dazzling brightness of snow.
The sky is beginning to darkling, and you feel it is time to go.
A bitter chill creeps up on you, you shiver but not from the cold.
And suddenly the fear starts to haunt you, from all the stories you've been told.
You can hear their voices surround you, whispering words in the dark.
A bed of ashes in your stomach, and your too-fast pounding heart.
A howl clings to the wind, biting through your sharpest fears.
Fear turns from uncertainty to panic, and you cry cold crystalline tears.
Frozen they fall like diamonds, shattering upon the ice at your feet.
The howl pricks the hairs on your neck, and you begin to turn and retreat.
A muffled cry fans your fear now, sending you skittering home.
For somewhere a beast roams this mountain, surely you are not alone.
The sun dips lower and lower, the orangey-red light fades to gray.
And all you can think of is running, and of how you must get away.
Your breath comes out in misty puffs, shattering the stillness of the night.
Suddenly you've lost all direction, home is nowhere in sight.
Mountains of snow loom around you, from the shadows it seems spectres rise.
Quickly you turn to run backwards, and find yourself rubbing your eyes.
The legend that was spoken of in whispers, hushed murmurs that always died in fear.
He stands on all fours right in front of you, the myth that was is now here.
His growl echoes loud and you cower, afraid of the truth of the story.
Will he carry you off into the night, this gruesome Abominable Bori?
His gaze locks with yours in that moment, and something passes between.
You blink and find him gone, not at all sure what you've seen.
His white fur had rippled so softly, a glimmer of beauty in fear.
His eyes had appeared sympathetic, but was he really here?
As you start towards home once more, you catch it faintly on the breeze.
A lilting moan mixed with a growl, echoing from the dark trees.
You start but a smile cracks your face, as you continue on your way.
Perhaps this legend was nosing about to celebrate Bori Day.

Festive Bori Music Box
by indulgences
I love the Advent Calendar.
Its gifts are sweet and fun.
The Festive Bori Music Box
Has no comparison!
Released eight years ago, this box
Has golden key to twist.
It plays the best and sparkling song
That ever did exist!
The tune is pure and spellbinding.
It's otherworldly too.
It's marvelous, miraculous.
It's gorgeous through and through!
A dainty little Bori sits
Atop this music box.
I want to wind the box all day,
And play it round the clock!
A pretty dusting of white snow
Is scintillating stuff.
There's no improving on this toy.
It's wonderful enough!
This music box is magical.
This box has no real peer.
It fills me with such joy and bliss.
It fills me with such cheer!
So thanks to all of TNT
For making such a treat!
This box is so melodious,
So delicate and sweet!

Bori Explorer
by scechoi
The little exploring Bori decided to wander around.
He began in the place that was his home town.
Snow falls at a steady place at this mountain up high.
He enjoyed the wooden buildings as he walked by.
The little exploring Bori wanted more adventure,
To a place, at first, he was really quite nervous to enter.
It was an ancient, rocky land surrounded by forrest.
Music played loud for a group of eager tourists.
The little exploring Bori got a ride across the sea.
He ended up at a amazing island, and felt such glee.
The island had such lovely beaches and palm trees.
He even got to go to on a tour and saw all to see!
The little exploring Bori heard magical tales
About a land deep under the sea, abound with shells.
He wanted so badly to go to this wondrous land.
It's all he could think about as he played in the sand.
The little exploring Bori was all done with looking.
He told his owner he was finished with deciding.
He wanted to swim deep in the waters of the ocean.
Living in Maraqua made him feel so much emotion.
The little Maraquan Bori felt no need to wander around.
He had finally found a place he felt safe and sound.

My Curious Bori Gnome
by binky1260
I have a garden full of gnomes,
A colorful array;
Some help me with my garden chores
And others simply play.
Some like to fish in my small pond,
Amid the reeds and thatch;
They perch on stones and red mushrooms
As they angle for a catch.
But my favorite little garden gnome
Likes none of these pursuits;
He crouches on the lush green lawn
In his tiny elfish boots,
And studies life and nature
In quiet contemplation;
The dragonfly’s wing and daisy’s petal
Fill him with fascination.
He is an inquisitive fellow
And a fine devoted student;
His talent for observation
Serves to make him wise and prudent.
And when immersed in quiet work,
He is my inspiration,
As I strive to go about my tasks
With equal dedication.
