The Pound By little_serena

In the cold, dark, lonely corner
a Neopet waits
patiently until someone takes him home
as you look deep into his eyes you see fear
his hands shaking and his face pale
you can tell that he has been up for nights
just waiting for that someone to take him home
he sees through a little hole in the brick wall
all those newborn Neopets with their owners
and thinks, "Why is that not me,
why am i not out there?"
I have done nothing wrong to my owner
but he still put me into this cold dark place
and every day more and more come here
but I have been here long
and lonely
still believing that I will not pass away here!
And that someone will come...

Meerca Chase By konitsu

Chasing, Running, Dashing.
I run after those Happy Neggs.
One after another, I can't stop.
I run faster and faster.
I catch one, just to find another.
Will it ever stop?

My legs grow weary,
I slow my pace.
But somehow, I have to keep
up the race.
I have over 50 now,
and they still come.

I'm sweating, tired and worn.
My owner cheers me on.
I'll keep going, I can't stop.
There is no way I'll let them win.
So I run and dash and chase.

I'm down to nothing.
I have over 200
and they just keep coming.
I can't let my owner down,
I must keep up the pace.
Sweat drips down my face,
the Neggs keep coming.

I grabbed one last one until I fell.
I felt like crying I was so ashamed.
So tired, I couldn't even get back up.
My owner runs up to me
and gives me a big hug.
"Great job!" she shouts.
I'll run tomorrow, all rested up.
Tomorrow I'll beat the high score.

Love and Power By dragonsnow

To me harsh winds are summer breezes
to me a wound is just a scratch
I am the elite
I am the best
but I still can't figure
how the Wocky could beat me
the fight started out like they always did
I overwhelmed it with my gigantic self
but it didn't cower as most Wockys did,
it just bared it's teeth and growled
my owner was screaming to finish it quickly
he cursed at me and said unnice things
but I didn't care
I was STILL the best
but then I saw the Wocky's girl
saying loving things to it
I suppose I choked
when I heard her voice
'cause the Wocky latched onto me
and brought me down
My owner kicked me and left the ring
but the Wocky's girl healed me
and the Wocky helped, too
how nice they were, I see why they won
I had strength, but they had love...

In A Smile By chibi_zelphie

My pets have never held a Faerie,
The ones you get in bottles,
They have never seen a fighting item,
More rare than a snowball.
They have never been painted,
They have never worn any more clothes
Than a Flotsam sweater.
On some nights they are
Cold and afraid.
But you know what?
They don't really care.
Sure, they want
The items, the clothes,
The colours, the money.
They smile at me
And laugh when I say
"My pets, let's get
A different color today?"
They say "Don't be silly,
We're happy just the way we are."
And I nod and smile, glad that they
Are optimistic.

The Ski Lodge By arcticfrost

A ski lodge perched atop a mountain
an ideal getaway,
but when the guests find out what's there
they will not want to stay.
They enter The Lodge, unpack their things
it's dark and late,
they decide to go to sleep
but what came next they did not anticipate.
All this time a steathly one
who lurked among their number,
was planning to eventually
bring the rest to slumber.
The guests that stayed at that ski lodge
went from thirty-two to twenty-five,
and when another week had passed
only half remained alive.
Who could be the murderer?
Who could possibly know?
Quite sadly for the visitors,
Only time will show.
