Not Your Typical Uni

It is widely believed and known
that Unis are quite vain,
but the intense pressure
can drive a 'pet insane!

Most Unis may be conscious
about the way they look,
but all I need to be content
is a good ol' lengthy book.
 
Groups of stylish Unis
sneer at me
whenever I pass by.
They do not dare befriend me;
how come, I know not why.

I am fond of the clothes I have,
I got them secondhand.
They are not meant
for runways but,
who cares,
I think they're grand!

Being pretty and popular
is a pretty difficult job,
so I try not to care
about them acting
like absolute snobs.

Having friends and clothes is nice,
but I know what I need --
love, fun, enough food and clothes,
and a good book for me to read!

My Celestial Uni Harp

When I strum on its strings,
it floats like a Uni's wings.
Gracefully flowing on notes,
with the power of Air Motes.

The rhythms that it creates
can open up enchanted gates.
Lifira blessed it by herself,
and I'd kept that to myself.

If I am feeling sad or grey,
I take out my harp and play
because it elevates my mood,
even if I've been in a feud.

My harp's colour is sky blue
just like a cloud Uni's hue,
which isn't a surprise to me --
they're so musical and artsy.

Peace can begin with a song;
this harp is absent of wrong.
Tranquil tunes will be heard
by this harp I have referred.

Unis Of The Merry Go Round

If you want a fun ride
and to be in for a treat,
head over to Roo Island
for something really neat.

The Roo Island Merry Go Round,
a long-time tourist attraction,
is available to ride on
for great spinning action!

with many shapes and styles.

The basic green Uni is a good one
for those like to go non-stop
(or for those who mistakenly buy
those potions during a restock).

For those who like a darker spin,

a cloud Uni can be ridden.

A yellow Uni for those of sunny demeanor,
or a pink one for those who are around
and like to see this rainbow of Unis
bounce up and down.

And, since it's for fun,
there's sadly no need
for a Uni that's in the color
of the legendary Nightsteed.

Uni Face Shield

I gasped when first I saw this thing,
So bright with golden hue.
It scintillated like the sun.
It shone and sparkled, too.

The shield is crafted from the best
Of golden, magic ore.
It's mixed with lightweight molten steel
And sturdy at its core.

A gem of palest aqua blue
Adorns this face shield's brow.
It's not just for the Battledome.
This lovely thing's a crown.

I place this item on my 'pet
And watch my Uni gasp.
She presses it against her face.
It's tight within her grasp.

She'll never use the Battledome,
But keep this mask, she will.
She's not the fighting kind, I guess.
She hasn't got the skill.

But wear this mask, she surely will,
In all its majesty.
It looks so gorgeous on her head.
She's such a devotee!

A Woodland Uni Tableau

She moves through foliage and dense trees
As softly as a summer breeze,
A cast of colors and pearly light
In floral hues and shades of white.

Her beauty, radiant as an opal,
Surpasses by far all who dwell
Within this woodland, emerald green,
Replete with rivers crystalline.

And, in the brightness of the day,
To a still place she finds her way;
Fluid music, nature’s call,
Draws her to a waterfall.

And there, upon the downy grass,
She nestles in to gaze, at last,
Upon a mirror from within
Ancient water passed through time.

She notes a small horn, straight and sure,
As silver eyes stare back at her
And spy a mane of finest silk,
A prized possession of her ilk.

Then, with her vanity thus spent,
She rises from her throne content;
Hoof dipped to surface will bestow
A smile to liquid depths below.

Four-Eyed Unis

A Uni should
be able to
wear glasses
(not sunglasses, either).
Why? Just because
they have beauty and style
does not mean 
they can't be readers.
I would love to see
that glorious day
when a Uni abandons
their cares
and pays more attention
to what's on their mind
than their appearance
and social affairs.
I want to see a bespectacled Uni
writing notes or poetry,
or perhaps,
to break stereotypes,
a group of them 
in the library.

We often hear "Uni"
and instantly think
of vanity and wings,
but I am sure,
if we talk to one,
we would learn surprising things.
They, too, like games
and are like us,
but I would like
to one day find
a four-eyed 'pet
with hooves and wings
(One that is just like my kind!).

Tawnia, The Island Uni

Usually hanging out at the beach,
about her looks she doesn't care.
Getting mud all over her hair.
This Uni is quite unusual.

Unlike other Unis, she doesn't mind
the wet sand spattering her legs and fur
while digging up shells 
and exploring Mystery Island.
Other Unis would probably defer.

Tawnia headed north along the shore.
She came upon a thing 
sticking up through the sand.
Using her hooves to push the damp sand away,
she discovered it was an odd wooden mask;
at once she knew she couldn't ignore.
She sold it to a creepy Techo 
that was painted black,
he gave her a Neopoints-filled bag.

That night, 
a horrible hurricane rushed across, I swear.
Palm trees shaking in the moonlight,
the thrust of wind 
sending Tawnia hurtling into the air.

Selling that artifact to the shady Techo
must've been the reason for the violent storm.
In the air, twirling like a psycho
with all her might and will, she tried to reform.

Unsure of how much time 
had passed when she awoke,
but relieved to find herself lying in a hut.
"I'm glad to see you awake," a kind voice spoke.
Tawnia saw Jhuidah, holding a coconut.

To make a long conversation more compact,
Tawnia signed a contract
to bring the artifacts 
found in Mystery Island sands
first into Jhuidah's hands.

The Almighty Uni

Oh Uni, I wish I was you -- so pure
and white as an angel’s wings.
I wonder what it is like to wear a horn,
shining bright in Neopia.

I wish I was a beast of magnificence like you,
who lives a magical life in Faerieland;
take me with you, please,
so I can see the light, enchanted purple haze.

I lead her through a magical path
so all of Neopia will get to know her charm,
her power, and her mystery.
I want to ride her in glory.

You went into the clouds;
She never harmed or hit me.
Wait, the clouds turned dark purple,
What exactly is going on?

Why isn’t she laughing?
She looked down from the sky and screamed;
I can see into her big heart.
I then realized what kind of beast she truly was.

My Uni LibertyBellah

Many picture Unis as girly,
Going to salons in a hurry,
Brushing their manes every hour,
Filling themselves with girlish power.

Although LibertyBellah is so kind,
Her power rocks the house like dynamite.
She's brave, smart, and super cool.
You can even describe her as old school.

She may be immature,
But she knows what's best
For her sisters, brothers,
And 'pets.

She behaves very well when she's training.
My LibertyBellah is quite amazing!

Wishful Thinking

I am your typical Ixi
with the strength of a Tonu,
but to become a Uni
would be a dream come true!
I once tried wearing wings to fly
but they did not take me far,
I actually crashed into a tree...
don't believe me? I have a scar.
I may not be athletic,
but my favorite goalkeeper
in all of Yooyuball history
is the great Valtonous Rea.
I am a frequent visitor
to the Unis Clothing Shop.
I could look around
for countless hours,
it is rather hard to stop.
I chat with the shopkeeper
whenever I'm there;
I do not know her name
but admire her personality,
her style, and her fame!
In seeing the night sky,
I wish on the first star I see
and always think of
one day becoming
a beautiful winged Uni.
