Trudy's Surprise Slot Machine
by perduco

Oh lovely Trudy, do not be snooty!
Boxes if you spare? They're needed to share.

The steady income, pretty nice.
Affordable wishes suffice.

Two or more matches secures prize.
Non-lookalikes? Can't exceed tries.

Fifteen quick seconds, come and gone.
Into nothingness you've withdrawn.

Twenty four hours, no spinning
My chance missed, there goes some winnings.

Three weeks progressively growing.
Resets mean increases slowing.

One hundred thousand Neopoints
Profiting never disappoints.

This Ixi receives many thanks.
Rewards earned, deposit in our banks.

Another daily, fairly new.
Post-Hab, replacement overdue.

Images seem very random.
Avatars are memorandum.

Side accounts forbidden, gain NP
TNT heard several plea.

Preferences, check off block her
Visit alternates, as we were.

For all its beauty, bountiful booty
Free NC's so rare, a box is quite fair.

I’m Feelin’ Lucky!
by waning

Neopians from far and wide,
venture to Krawk island for a dare.
They seek to win big riches,
So they can spend without a care!

The lure resides inside a machine,
with lines of symbols which spin ‘round.
If you can get a couple matches in,
great fortune will be found!

After an ominous sign 'tis named;
A Black Pawkeet is never a good sign.
Despite the leery title,
You’ll be pleased when symbols align!

So step up lad and give ol’ Pawkeet some coin;
Cross your fingers and spin the slots.
Round and round the symbols go;
With some luck you may just win lots!

Teeth
by theschizophrenicpunk

"It's Ixi day!" my mother cheered, excited to see the news
She's always loved to see the new colours - which one of them to choose?
She saw the transparent paint brush, and her eyes lit up with glee
She knew without a doubt that that was the colour she would paint me

I didn't make a fuss, you see, I'm pretty much used to the fray
From years of having my colour and species painted and potion'd away
So down to the rainbow pool we went, and into the waters I dived
But when I got home and looked in the mirror, I couldn't believe my eyes

For years I'd been a Mutant Ixi - a mess of horns and drool
But now, I was just a pile of bones (though seeing my heart beat was cool)
But the worst part of it all, because, you see, I'm missing a few
Was that when I closed my mouth, my ugly teeth kept showing through!

Oh, what a dreadful smile I have, all crooked and partly decayed
Years of having fangs, I guess, kept oral hygiene at bay
I used to keep my mouth closed shut so nobody could see the truth
But now, even when I pursed my lips, my teeth kept showing through!

Desperate, I went up to Faerieland to ask for some advice
"Fyora," I begged, "please send the Tooth Faerie so she can make my teeth nice!"
The queen took pity on me that day and called the Tooth Faerie down
But when the blue-haired girl saw my smile, her lips turned into a frown

"Good gracious!" she shouted, full of surprise, "how did this happen to you?"
I explained I'd been a mutant so long that it left my teeth askew
So with a few magic words and a flick of her wand, she went right to work
And one minute, two minutes, three minutes later, she sent me home with a smirk

My teeth, oh boy, they were so pretty! All white and shiny and straight
And to maintain they're perfectness, I always brushed them right after I ate
So now, whenever I talk to friends, I feel such pride, I do
Because, even when I close my mouth, my gorgeous teeth show through!

The War That Never Ends
by dickies_8o8_gurl

The Awakened casts an eerie vibe,
That'll make any Neopian shake.
For their weapon of choice lies within
The twins and delicious cake.

The Brutes fight with fists so powerful,
It'll definitely take out,
Their flimsy opponents using tricks,
They say they'll win, no doubt!

The Order conjure magic spells,
Using power from within.
Leader Rasala, the strongest of all,
Will lead them to a win.

The Seekers opt to use their minds,
Fighting with brain over brawn.
Gaining an edge by reading books,
Enemies are merely pawns.

The Sway is the most secretive,
Not much is known at all.
Do not underestimate their power,
For they don't easily fall.

The Thieves are one to not play fair,
Which might give them the lead.
But with all these forces they're up against,
Can they truly succeed?

Every two weeks, we battle again.
Why can't we make peace?
Considering the week in between,
The battles we all cease.

The skirmish begins, as teams assemble,
Battles become more extreme.
For one week straight, without sleep,
Who will reign supreme?

Little Things About Fall
by jokerless

Leaves lightly fall down around you
The forests burning reddish gold
Air crisp with the occasional breeze
Bearing warning of winter's cold

Gloved hands tucked in your coat
Nose pink in protest to chilly air
Scarf warm and trailing in the wind
Not one to let slight frost despair

Harvest bears blessings to the land
That first, tiny planted seed in spring
Grew from small to many in number
Now made enough to feed a king

As nightfall fast approaches
You're back home with hot drink in mug
Watching summer gently fade away
Buried underneath blankets snug

Wood hisses and crackles in the chimney
As you relish the warmth of an open fire
Allowing heat to rush back in your veins
Before deciding it's time to retire
