The Top 5 Machines You'll Encounter On The Daily by rascle90

Alien Aisha Vending Machine It is said that out in the great expanse of space that Alien Aisha are out to explore multiple worlds in search of adventure and knowledge. But what happens when these curious explorers decide to reach Neopia? The most logical thing possible: they bring a mysterious machine to do business with the locals! This machine can be found within Neopia Central in the Neopian Plaza, and Neopians can play with this alien machine using a currency of these space friends called Nerkmids (there are different types, colours, and prices!). The prizes that could be obtained from this machine vary depending on the Nerkmid type, as well as the combination of buttons and levers you can press. What possible prizes, you ask? You can get a wide variety of prizes that range from somewhat disturbing food prizes (spooky or simply disgusting) to incredibly colourful Paint Brushes. Remember, it is a matter of luck! Still, this machine is a Neopian Classic that everyone should try, at least once, whether it's because you feel lucky enough, you have an appetite for a rare prize like a Chocolate Fish Pop Milkshake, or just because you are aiming for Aisha Alien's cherished Avatar or Trophy Neocola Machine Everyone in Neopia knows of or has heard from the legendary Dr. Sloth. Even though he is one of the biggest villains in Neopia, we can’t deny his intelligence in creating one of the most famous entrepreneurships. It is said that he created the Neocola Machine to fund his evil plans.. But nevermind that, just what is the Neocola Machine? It is a vending machine that, using Tokens that feature the evil Doctor’s face on them, people have access to roll for different prizes including transmogrification potions that can infamously turn your pet into a twisted, Mutant variant. To find this machine you must go on a space trip directly to the moon of Kreludor. Just like the Aisha Vending Machine, you must enter a combination of Neocola tokens and buttons to get your prize. If you are lucky, you can win a Dr Sloth t-shirt. What were you guys expecting, a can of Neocola? Although it is possible, it's better to have one of our favourite villains’ souvenirs, right? Additionally, if you are lucky enough, you might find these mentioned potions that will make your pet change in an unknown and peculiar way. Dubloon-o-matic. Arrrgh! Ready for the attack! Oh no, wait, let me exchange my doubloons to buy a Weewoo! When venturing to Krawk Island, with no intention of encountering pirates attacking its shores, visiting this machine is an important stop to exchange your low-value Dubloons for higher value increments. No one really knows who created this machine, yet there it is! Your favourite exchanger! Although useful, this machine is somewhat controversial as it does not allow you to fractionate higher value dubloons (a One Hundred Dubloon coin for instance) into smaller units. However, if you ever have a lot of small Dubloons and want to try your luck in the Pirate Cove, this is your option to make transactions faster and easier. Lever of DOOM! DO NOT PULL THIS LEVER, DO NOT PULL THIS LEVER!! Who can resist and not pull the Lever of Doom? For only 100 nps you can do it once, or twice,.... or five times, or ...... Well, you know what we mean. This is another machine built by our evil friend Dr. Sloth (he's not really our friend, we just don't want retaliation), and it has only one purpose: Neopians pulling down the lever for only 100 neopoints. Simple. However, it is important to mention that there is a low probability of getting a precious avatar! This avatar, desired for the Neopian community, can be obtained randomly when pulling this famous lever. How many times will you need? One? Ten? Three hundred and forty seven? Do you dare to try it? Most of us have already been there, spending tons of Neopoints and time just for that desired avatar hehe. Was it worth it? Totally! (I hope our money does not fund Dr. Sloth for another invasion) The Coincidence. The Coincidence, considered to be Dr. Landelbrot's masterpiece; is a machine composed of multiple mechanisms and gadgets. Located in Neopian space, this machine is capable of ANYTHING…yes, really anything. From electric currents to portals appearing mid-air, this machine will always surprise you. For only a couple items (three to nine items per search) you can visit this machine daily to try your luck! Even though it is slightly likely that nothing happens, The Coincidence can also increase/decrease your Neopets’ stats. Additionally, paying a visit to this machine can also grant you one of the smallest creatures in Neopia: The Petpetpets! Always remember to pay a visit to The Coincidence, this extraordinary machine in Neopia that, as mentioned before, only needs 3 to 9 junk items to work daily with a wide range of positive outcomes for you and your Neopets! The Secret Lab Ray Located far away from civilization on a secret isle is the Lab Scorchio’s acclaimed lair. If you are able to obtain the secret treasure map that allows you access, then inside you will be able to utilise the twisted mechanical concoction known to many as the Lab Ray. At one point in time, access to the Secret Lab was a sign of wealth and status among the Neopets community, but these days you’ll find it as a much more affordable staple for those who like to gamble with pet colour, species, and most commonly stats. For users that have a specific goal in mind and plenty of patience, the lab ray is still a valid method of gaining rare colours without spending any Neopoints on brushes or otherwise. The lab includes an array of lab-exclusive colours after all, these colours are not accessible by any other means such as paint or a Fountain Faerie Quest, so there are certainly benefits to trying to obtain them via the lab. These colours are: Alien, Clay, Garlic, Ice, MSP*, Robot*, Sponge, Snot, Chocolate, Jelly, Custard and 8-bit*. However, with only one zap a day, most often you will likely get a random stat change as colour and species changes are still fairly rare. You have to be patient! *These colours now have more accessible methods of obtaining these previously lab-exclusive variants. Petpet Lab Ray Similar to its predecessor, the Petpet Lab Ray allows you to zap one Petpet that is currently attached to your pet at a rate of once per day. At its helm is a crazed Kookith scientist that takes after the likeness of the Lab Scorchio, though this time instead of stat changes your Petpets will have a chance of either a name change, a level change, or a combined species and colour change in one single zap. Like its full-pet iteration, the Petpet lab has a variety of lab exclusive colours as well as species/colour combinations that can only be obtained via zapping. These colours are 8-bit, Chocolate, Gold, Ice, Jelly, Picnic, and Strawberry. However, unlike the regular lab ray, every Petpet that is zapped by this ray is marked by a special distinction on its pet’s profile and can no longer be painted, be eligible for the PPL, and cannot be removed without reverting to its initial form. I know it’s difficult to trust the spontaneous nature of these randomised machines, but that’s half the fun of owning them! Special mentions: Fruit Machine Now this might not be considered a machine at all… but as it is in the name we want to include an honourable mention for one of the most popular, and rewarding, dailies. Fruit Machine is located within Sahkmet in the Lost Desert. Its stall features three charming Neopets that allow you to roll a randomised selection of symbols once per day in order to achieve a combination, very similar to a slot machine. Typically prizes are miniscule, but you do reserve the chance of rolling a randomised Paint Brush! Now that’s a machine worthy of our love.
