Ogrin Day Special

Who am I?

Ruff of a Usul around my neck.
Mane of the Krawk adorns my head.
I come in many different colours.
Blue, Yellow, Green and Red.

Stripes of a Kougra down my back.
Acara feet I stand upon.
Who am I?

My species is pretty smart,
But often pretty shy.
I like to study grass and trees,
Am always asking, "why?"

Inquisitive and interesting.
Loyal through and through.
Who am I?

Frolicking through the fields of green,
Merry as can be.
Filled with pure excitement,
It's my holiday, you see!

Swaying like the wind swept grass.
Dancing with my friends.
I am the Ogrin!

Spending the day with a Maraquan Ogrin

It was a cold day during the month of celebrating.
I stared outside my window at the snow as I started revelating
about how wonderful it would be to visit my friend.
When this colder weather would come to an end.

For my friend would not like this snowy weather one bit.
As a Maraquan Ogrin he would have a fit.
Only a tropical climate would do,
so I will have to wait until the winter season is through.

The first thing we would do is go to the beach.
Maybe later go for slushies, his favourite was always peach flavoured.
We could play and make castles in the sand.
This beach day would be so grand!

If we were on Mystery Island he would want to take a tiki tour.
Secretly I would think this would be a bore.
After we could play a game of beach volleyball.
With each game our team would win them all.

As the day would come to an end,
I would have to say farewell to my Maraquan Ogrin friend.
While waiting at the harbour we would watch the sunset,
and think about all the fun we would have the next time we met.

The Ogrin Mountain Climber

A pale dawn breaks over Happy Valley
While the Ogrin climber takes a tally
Of the supplies in the pack
That’s strapped to his back
There’s no reason left to dally

While the townsfolk continue to slumber, 
The Ogrin climber begins to number
How many feet ‘til the top
So he can finally stop
And his gear will no longer encumber

With still miles to go before the summit,
He begins to fear a sudden plummet,
He sets his jaw
His courage thaws
He is determined to overcome it

Up the sheer mountain face he steadily ascends
His sturdy hooves conquering every tight bend
Until finally the peak
Which at first seemed so bleak
His anticipation totally transcends

Standing atop the conquered spire,
The Ogrin climber feels he could go higher,
Climb up to the sun,
But for now he is done
Until the descent proves even more dire

They’ll go to Terror Mountain for Ogrin orange lutari pops
And then Unis clothing shop for green Ogrin t-shirt tops

And in the midst of this celebration, as we all go out to play,
Just remember to show these pets some love today.

I Want To Be An Ogrin

I want to become an Ogrin this year!

With their beautiful stripes
Long mane and fluffy tail

Let’s head to the Magic store to find a way
To become the best pet in the land.
Wait, what do you mean

Let’s go check the Trading Post
Dang, just sold the last one!
Well, maybe I can save up for the lab.
What do you mean it’s that many Neopoints?!?

Okay, maybe I can get a magic plushie
What, they’re really that rare?
Alright fine, maybe if I eat enough food
That LOOKS like an Ogrin, I’ll become one!

Hm, so that won’t work?
I’ll never get my wish! 
Okay fine, maybe I can go to the store
And buy some clothes to resemble
The majestic Ogrin.

“Finally,” I think, as I put on
My own stripes, mane and fluffy tail. 
“Finally I can be as gorgeous as an Ogrin
On this lovely Ogrin Day.”

I Once Met An Ogrin

I once met an Ogrin who seemed awfully shy
When I said a cheery hello to him, he would not look me in the eye
He stared down at his book and hid the burning of his cheeks
Dr. Death crossed his arms and said, “That one? He never speaks.”

While many wonderful pets that day were all vying for my affection
I couldn't help but feel this one most needed my protection
I paid the adoption fee and took him home without hesitation
Though his continued reticence elicited some feelings of frustration

Over many weeks and months, I did everything I could think of
I groomed him daily, fed him plenty and showed him lots of love
But the Ogrin still said nothing, nose buried deep inside that book
When I took him to the Magical Bookshop, inspiration finally struck

I poured all my heart into reading to him from those well-worn pages
Cover to cover, I did all the voices – the entire thing took ages!
But in the end, it was worth it all to see the smile that lit up his face
His silence ended with a cry: “I LOVED that book – read one about space?”

Ode to Corbin

A tall, brunette Ogrin stands in awe,
From the aftermath of this contest in Neovia;
What started as a simple food eating contest,
Left a number of contests entirely possessed.

With his brother Kell at his side,
The two monster hunters found their stride.
A miscalculated mistake left Scarlet transformed,
In her true monster figure, completely deformed.

Corbin sought out the monster from shadows,
While Kell worked out a plan on how to dispose.
They met with Baffington, and next, to the Tombs,
A dark, dank maze of rooms upon rooms.

There were monsters and traps every which way,
Corbin and Kell wondered how long they could stay.
Eventually, Scarlet was trapped in a luring sleep,
Tucked away in the Tombs, down in the deep.

I shouldn’t be surprised that the pair had success,
Monster hunting runs in the family, an acquired finesse.
Their father had captured the Hairy Tongue Beast,
And now, the two had saved the Spooky Food Eating feast!

How to Befriend an Ogrin

The humble Ogrin, so  shy and quiet,
striped or spotted, blue or polka dotted.
They keep to themselves, timid and alone,
introverted and not keen to be known.

But how to befriend such a meek pet?
Follow these steps, and in time I bet,
you will call one your best friend,
one which you can always depend.

First: Take your time, don't be hasty,
then feed them a treat, one that is tasty.
Invite them to a game of Gormball,
or buy them clothes from the NeoMall.

Brush their fur and braid their tail,
read them books or tell a folktale.
Take them racing; they love to run,
tell them jokes, especially a pun.

Remember: Baby Ogrins need warm milk,
and plushie Ogrins are as soft as silk.
Magma touched ones are still safe to hug,
and robots might need a yearly debug.

Befriending Ogrins is as easy as pie,
It isn't hard, just give it a try!

Is mystical for them.

The hue of beige, forever sweet,
Is pleasing, so demure!
