A fancy Koi party

The Koi enjoy a fancy party
Music, dancing, food that’s hearty 
And you’re in luck, since you’re invited
You don a dress, you feel excited
And as you walk into the room
Ripples of anticipation bloom

The laughter's contagious
The outfits - outrageous 
With scales and tassels galore
Koi leap and twirl on the floor

A flutter of bubbles forms as fins unfurl in dance
A fizzy Koi seapop in hand, you’re entranced
Rippling scales, jive to an upbeat tune
Reflect dazzling light, enhanced by the moon

You close your eyes and listen
To hear the glisten,
Of swishing of tails
Like the wind in the sails
Of a ship destined for wonder
Your mind starts to ponder

The dancing concludes and you eagerly clap
In the interim, you reach for a Koi kelp wrap
You find it refreshing, perfectly salted 
You enjoy the evening till the party is halted
By the sound of a booming clock chiming 
You think to yourself “What perfect timing”

Your feet are weary from dancing
But this Koi day was truly entrancing.

Grandfather Koi

Grandfather Koi sits 'neath the waves
reclusive he stays by himself
the company he keeps springs forth from his mind
to be written then placed on the shelf

Stories of things that have happened
and tales that are really quite tall
from Maraqua's destruction to King Kelpbeard's parties
Grandfather Koi's told them all

He's put them in several volumes
and has many more yet to write
Until he is done he will sit there alone
telling stories far into the night

He has no need for live companions 
his stories as friends are quite nice
he sees them as an open book
and open books always suffice

There's no finer soda for taste or the sight.
It's beautiful, and flavour, sure to enthral,
Is unparalled, since it's the finest of all.

I love fruity taste, an expansive, sweet range.
From apple quite yummy and others, so strange,
To kiwi delight, this drink just is the best!
It is certainly greater than all of the rest.

Carbonation, quite awesome, packs one mighty punch!
I'll enjoy fizz so lively with every day's lunch.
Some have said it's too strong, but I just disagree!
Masterpiece oh so fizzy is perfect for me.

While this drink can be bought at the Food Shop no more,
You can certainly find it in marketplace stores.
It is worth every Neopoint---try it today!
If I couldn't enjoy it, I'd feel much dismay.

How are they made?
How does their appeal
Never, ever fade?

Whether at my writing desk
Or shopping around,
My bag of Cheesy Kois
Is always to be found.

Though there's one place
Where I can't take Cheesy Kois
There's no going around it
For I have no choice.

It's the place where Kois play,
Down in the deepest waters.
But Cheesy Kois only get soggy
All the way in Maraqua.

While his demeanor may seem coy,
he is the most friendly pet by far.
I am talking about the Koi,
one of the best Neopets there are.

The Fanciful Fauna Shopkeeper

Mystical Shenkuu sits proud.
Within the city you need not travel far,
To find the Petpet loving superstar!

And so our story begins,
With a koi and her gentlest of fins.
I'm of course referring to the Fanciful Fauna Shopkeeper extraordinaire,
Known for looking after her petpets with great care.

She raises them with fondness and devotion,
Between you and me, she deserves a promotion!
Her petpets require a quiet and tender hand,
And she rises to the occasion, taking the stand.

Although a little bit quiet and shy,
She does not struggle to get Neopets to buy.
All her rare Petpet companions find warm homes,
With the freedom to explore and roam.

This Koi Day we honour this aquatic pet,
The most curious and playful you've ever met!
These traits are depicted in our shopkeeper friend,
Happily lost in her Petpet world till the end.

Four Koi in A Pond

When I looked down
To four Koi in a pond
I thought I saw the skies
And everything beyond!

For the first was Starry
Swimming with joy
To the others she would carry
Her favourite old toy

And the second was Cloudy
Such a sight to behold
His moves a little rowdy

As for the third, bright Rainbow
He was out of the bunch
While the others played
He only thought about lunch

And the last was Eventide
Even in the tideless pond
She brimmed with energy

My Fae-vourite Koi

When I was just a little one -
First venturing Neopian lands -
From the high tops of Faerieland -
To the depths of Maraqua's sands -
I idolized a certain fish.
Alas, it seemed a far-off wish.
My heart belonged in Faerieland,
Where Koi could neither fly nor stand.

I wanted someone who could swim -
Someone with gills to match their gall -
Swimming in lights, when lights were dim -
The Koi, it seemed, just had it all.
However, I had hatched a plan.
The Koi could swim - I'm sure it can
Swim safely in a certain pool -
A Faerie pond, a perfect tool.
Today is Koi Day - and I know 
How to bring them to Faerieland.
Although the Koi lives down below -
I hatched my plan up beforehand.

With one dip in the Rainbow Pool,
The Koi was lit up like a jewel -
Faerie wings sprouted on its back -
A Faerie Koi was what I lacked!
Now, Faerie Koi and I explore -
Without restrictions on delight -
From cloud to cloud - from shore to shore -
My favourite fish has taken flight.

I would ask
how koi can live like this, here
but I've heard -

I know that
Koi love pearls. But I assumed
on this day

it would be
jewellery, gifts - not a place
bright in dark.

Days spent with Koi are some of the best
It’s time to bid farewell but don’t be sad
Koi will return with more fun to be had!

We've never been the same.

Team Shenkuu has never won the cup,
I wonder why that is?
You were replaced far too soon,
We never saw your true skills!

Turo Rafels, where are you now?
Team Shenkuu needs you bad!
Keep on training and get yourself fit,
You were the best we ever had.

Perhaps now there'll be a place for you,
Oh Spotted Koi, don't give up!
Maybe this year will be the year

Kois loves the ocean,
 and love to swim.
and if you're lucky,
 you might run into them.

Or should I say "luck",
when really, once a year,
there's an event that Neopians flock to
from far and near.

Simply put, it's Koi day,
so relax and rejoice.
It's a once-a-year chance to adopt
any Koi of your choice!

So go forth and be merry.
It's a wonderful day.
Find solace in the ocean,
and then be on your way.
