Machines in Motion: Side Hustles of Robot Petpets by spukl1
--------
Hello dearies! Welcome back to Granny Grumbles’ Hoppin’ Hobbies. With the summer heat being as toasty as it is on Neopia, I decided to take a trip somewhere cooler… somewhere that was much more climate controlled… that is right my friends, I spent a few weeks of my summer at the Virtupets Space Station! After a couple of days touring the Station and learning about the history, those Grundo’s introduced me to my new obsession… and the topic of today’s Hoppin’ Hobbies: Robot Petpets. I am sure you already know and love those cute little Robot Petpets, maybe you even have one of your own! But do you ever wonder what they do when they are not hanging around being a Neopet’s best friend? What’s that? You have not thought about it? Well, I just learned that unlike other Petpets, Robot Petpets do not need any food, naps or downtime. So, while we are snoozing or relaxing at the Neolodge, the Robot Petpets are off doing jobs around Neopia! Those little guys are machines in motion! Today I have to share with all of you, the side hustles of Robot Petpets so that maybe you too can spot them in the “wild”, just as I have for the past few weeks! - Chatter: This cheerful Petpet seemed to gain a lot of popularity in the past year and for good reason. Not only is this a cute little chap, but entertaining too, stacked with games and sounds! When not being a Neopet’s BFF, the Chatters can be found at the Games Room, isn’t that exciting?! The Chatters are notably running Scorchy Slots, Black Pawkeet Slots and Brucey B Slots all on their own! They also assist with the Neopian Lottery and many other chance games. Three cheers for the Chatters! They are so neat. - Vacumatic 9000: This one may be less of a surprise to you since they likely help you around the Neohome, but this Petpet’s side job is to be the clean-up crew. After all of the Neopian events – from concerts in Tyrannia to the Altador Cup and everything in between, the teams of Vacumatic 9000s are out there being janitorial! They make sure to put Neopia back to its standard state, cleaning up trash, wiping down messes and vacuuming up the dust. I was also told that some of these Petpets also volunteer at Petpet shops around the globe scrubbing up after the youngest Petpets. I am so proud of all their hard work! - N-4 Info Retrieval Bot:While these little droids do their duty being a Neopet’s sidekick, they also fill many other roles across Neopia! The N-4 Info Retrieval Bots’ skills lie in information gathering. While known to be used as spies during battles throughout Neopian history, these days they use their skills to help the community. The N-4 Info Retrieval Bots assist the Auction Genie with searching listings and organising bids, they support the Shop Wizard with all of the online comparison-shopping data and prepare the daily Crossword Puzzle for the Faerieland Librarian. In their spare time, I am told they help to feed Esophagor when all the Neopians are asleep. We are so blessed to have these smart critters! - Screwtop: Up next are Screwtops and I must admit, I did not know how much these metallic Petpets contributed to our little world… The Screwtops are the builders of Neopia, most of the modern buildings around have been built by them including many of our Neohomes! From objects big to small, the Screwtops are involved in the construction process. We should send over a team of Screwtops to Dacardia to help them rebuild! I am sure the Crabby-bots would appreciate it! - Navibot: I am sure we all already knew that these Petpets were handy, but when they are away from their Neopets, they are really helping to bring Neopia into a New Era. These high-tech Petpets have been Geomapping all of Neopia to allow us Neopians to quickly navigate from one land to the next! I knew my travels were not as long as they used to be but I had no idea it was all thanks to the Navibots! The Grundos at the station also informed me that the Navibots are in charge of IT updates, working closely with the famous AAA as well as helping out Dr. Landelbrot with technology maintenance. Bravo! - Triclopstar : This is a fairly new Petpet to Neopian domestication, but apparently, they have been in the wilds of space for years! I am told they have been defending Neopia from interstellar threats for years. The Grundos at Virtupets Space Station refused to elaborate on what those threats were or what the Triclopstars technically do in their free time… all they would state was “Space Defense”. I guess we have to leave it at that, some things I will just never get to know. Thank you Triclopstars for your duty. Thank you, sweeties, for listening to me prattle on about these miraculous creatures – and I barely scratched the surface! I hope you learned a little bit more about Robot Petpets and can appreciate them just a little more, as I do. Aren’t they just the most exciting pieces of metal! And to think I never knew how integral these machines were to keeping Neopia functioning. I for one am astonished at all the side jobs these Robot Petpets have and I get so excited when I see them in “action” in the “wild”. If you want to learn more about these cool cuties, I highly suggest the Machines in Motion tour at the Virtupets Space Station. I had Huppard the Mutant Grundo as my tour guide and he was utterly delightful! If you do go, please tell them all I sent you! That is all for today for Granny Grumbles’s Hoppin’ Hobbies. I am off to the Games Room to play the slots and chatter with the Chatters, maybe they can make sure I hit the jackpot *hehe*. Until next time. Cheers. *Sponsored by The Robo-Petpet Shop – Adopt!
