Desiging a Deck

Time for a holiday!
And by that we of course mean a vacation. Of course we will all need something to do on that holiday and a nice deck of cards can be quite useful in entertaining ones self for an hour or so. Thus your challenge over the next 3 weeks is to create/design your own Neopian Deck of Cards. As always this deck of cards should be Neopets themed and created entirely by yourself. Your submission should include a picture of your cards and what/who your design is based on in the description. We will judge entries on creativity, fun, and their overall awesomness. :)

Le Faerie Cafe

With a gallery devoted to faerie items (that started out as a faerie foods gallery), the natural choice for me was to create a deck inspired by these wonderful little delicacies. The four suits were redone to fit Faerieland a little better, being a cloud, a nova, a waterfall, and a rainbow. The back of the cards is the faerie foods shopkeeper. The entire deck is featured, with four of my favorites shown as close-ups at the bottom. What better way to celebrate the holiday than with a feast of the best foods from Neopia?!


Deal out damage with the Battledeck

I based my deck of cards on the Battledome.
For the suits we have the Bony Grarrl CLUB, the Battle SPADE, the DIAMOND Snowball, and um... yeah, hearts were a bit tricky, as there aren't any Battledome items with the word heart in... so we've got the Shiny Toy HEART Shield, and we're pretending that the word 'toy' isn't there. Hope everyone is okay with that :p
Then the Royals are characters from four of the Battledome arenas - Clubs are Grarrg, the Cybunny Scout & Sabre-X; Diamonds are the Snowager, Lady Frostbite & the Snow Beast; Spades are Balthazar, Vira & the Pant Devil; and Hearts are the Turmaculus, Kauvara & Boochi. And of course the Joker has to be - Mr Chuckles!


Favorite Neopian Deck

This card deck is somewhat similar to a normal deck because it has four suits. But, unlike a normal deck, it has four different colors, and the suits are neopet-themed. Blue is eyries, green is cybunnies, purple is hissies, and black is lutaries. This deck took a lot of time to make, but it was rather fun, except for the number cards. I used colored pencils, colored pens, erasers, markers, scissors, and cards to make this. The pets and petpets were chosen based on whether they looked similar, and also how easy the pets were to draw.


Neopets Art-Themed Playing Cards

It's not just a deck of cards, it's art! I created a full deck of playing cards featuring the art I have created for Neopets throughout the years. 53 of my favorite works are now immortalized in standard playing cards for my family and friends to enjoy! I started out by designing each card on the computer. I then printed them out on matte photo board paper. After cutting them up, I rounded the corners individually for a professional look! I then played a game of solitaire with the biggest smile ever! Thank you to Neopets for helping me get more and more creative every day!!!

Terror Mountain Cards

This holiday season Santa did not visit, I had no tree, nor any gifts but I did have neopets, copy paper, some tape, color pencils, free time, and an old deck of cards. I have always loved playing cards and so this random contest, though a bit difficult, was perfect for me.
Because it is winter and December/holiday season I choose Terror Mountain as my inspiration. I changed the traditionally red color to blue and the traditionally black color to grey (after the altador cup colors). Every card A-10 has an image withing the symbols representing different areas of Terror Mountain. Diamonds: Altador cup symbol for all of terror mountain, Hearts: the advent calendar with three stars from Happy Valley, Clubs: Snowager from the Ice Caves, Spades: the Snow Faerie from the Top of the Mountain.
For the K, Q, J, and Jokers I drew inspiration from the rink runner (J,D), Snowball Fight (Q,D), Dar-Blat!!! (K,D), Garage Sale Game (J,H), Hannah and the Ice Caves (Q,H), Ice Cream Cart (K,H), Toy Repair Shop (J,C), The Neggery (Q,C), Snow Roller (K,C), Let it Slide (J,S), Scratch Card Kiosk (Q,S), Snowmuncher (K,S), Abominable Snowball (Joker), and the Shop of Mystery (Joker).
On the back of every card I drew one of the Terror Mountain peaks from a usul skiing background image over Terror Mountain on neopets, I used the altador cup frame as a template for the back frame, placed a purple and yellow neopets logo, and added pink swirls.


Clockwork Cards

This deck of cards was based on the Y14 Festival of Neggs - specifically, the Mysterious Negg expedition. I replaced the four traditional card suits with symbols from the Clockwork Negg: diamonds became the..fiery symbol, clubs is the swirly thing, hearts is, uh, the square swirly one, and spades is the Negg itself. Also, the face cards feature the five guardians, Rutu, Selvin, Voughn, Ricky, and Hurok. These cards were made with inking pens and colored pencil on cardstock, and are perfect for whiling away those solitary hours in an isolated cave in Shenkuu.

First I thought characters. The k obviously are kings, for me the queens of Neopian are the fairies, the j are the warriors and the Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs are the petpets. I made the cards with ps. I created a hand of poker with a 3d program :)
