Random Contest Winners!
Every week or so we have a new Random Contest. The rules and events vary from competition to competition. Below are the winners from the last contest. If you'd like to enter the current contest, wander on over to the Random Contest submission form and have a look at what the currently silly task is. If you think you're up for it, give it a shot and submit your entry.
 Contest: Nail It What to do... Summer is here, so what should you do with your time? Paint your walls? (boring) Paint the fence? (tedious) How about you do some art for us? More specifically we would like you to do some nail art. Just in case you don't know what that is, we would like you to paint a neopian inspired design on some finger/toe nails, you can use artificial nails. You don't even have to do this art on your own nails, you can paint some one else's nails. (Just make sure you have permission first.) Please do all of the work yourself. Your submission should include a picture of the nails, and it should tell us what/who the nail art represents in the description. We will judge entries on beauty, creativity, and their overall awesomness. :) First Place Nineteen winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 10,000 NP and an item of DOOM.

Faerie Shoyru Nail Art by anjilbabey My nail art represents my Faerie Shoyru Shelli taking a walk on the Kacheek Pathway, wearing one of her favorite dresses, the Regal Sequin Dress and holding her Cloud Flower Bouquet, she's wearing her Pastel Blue Hair Bow and walking under Flower and Wire Garland. 
Warf Rescue Team Nails by babygelert212 I decided to paint my nails with a scene from Warf Rescue Team. It took me three hours to paint, using seven different nail colors... plus and additional hour to figure out how to photograph both of my own hands at the same time by myself (end result: a camera precariously mounted to the top of a stack of video games and many, many takes using the camera delay timer). 
Terror Mountain Nail Art by dragon_child_ My nails are painted in Terror Mountain fashion, with Taelia the Snow Faerie on my thumb, a Snowbunny, and some wintery scenery. I started with a base coat of blue nail polish, and carefully painted the images with a fine detail brush, which took me about an hour. 
Kadoatie Polka Dot Nails by i_yogurty What could be better than cute kadoaties on your nails? These lovely cats are drawn with acrylic paint and sealed coats of clear nail polish. You will definitely not be short of compliments with these nails! 
Terror Mountain Mani by jennfacetoo These mix 'n' match nails are some of my favourite things from Terror Mountain - Adee the Chia and the cherry bonus from Ice Cream Machine, and yummy frozen treats like Slushies as well as a rather bright Brucicle :) 
Mystery nails by kaomi_chan13 My nail art represents the Mystery Island, I recreated items like a mystery island paint brush, a codestone, I even made a mystery island kacheek flower clip (because I love kacheeks). 
Buried treasure nails!! by kizbiz These nails were inspired by the buried treasure game which I absolutely love! 
Faerie Bubbles by klarevoyant My nails are each a faerie bubble - fire, dark, water, earth, and light. Air was excluded because, well, white isn't as fun as rainbow colors. I got the idea because a bubble is kind of the shape of a nail, rounded and such. Yes, it took 22 nail polishes to do this. Even though they aren't perfect, I really liked how the glitter turned out like faerie dust! :D Thank you! 
Neggy nails by marshmallowpancakes For this weeks contest I made my nails into neggs! I used thirteen shades of polish (some had to be mixed), lots of nail polish remover, toothpicks, q-tips, painter's tape, clear tape, and paper. I started with a white base coat on all of them to make the colors pop and did my best with the designs. I cut the little stems out of paper and painted them green, then stuck them to the backs of my nails with clear tape. Please excuse the mess around my nails (the Power Negg is meant to have it though!), it was really difficult to get the polish off my skin without messing up good part :P I hope you like my entry!!

Dubloon Disaster Nails by mnfaerie789 Based on one of my favorite game on neopets, Dubloon Disaster. Inspired me enough to go hunt some dubloons actually. 
Meerca Chase - Nailed It by phoenexa This design was inspired by the fact that, in all the years I have been playing neopets, on several different accounts I eventually lost access to, Meerca Chase has been there since the very beginning. Not only that, but it is still one of the most famous games on this website! A classic, with a simple and beautiful design, I just knew it would be perfect to memorialize on the medium of nails - attached to the fingers you so fervently must use to succeed at Meerca Chase! 
Paintbrush Nails! by pritkin This is what I think your nails would look like if you painted them using neopet paintbrushes! The 10 colours are maractite, elderly, disco, wraith, pirate, plushie, eventide, darigan, woodland and rainbow. I painted them on my own nails and then on some false nails so the designs are easier to see. I used about 25 nail varnishes, some tiny paintbrushes, dotting tools, a toothpick and a makeup sponge to create these designs. 
A Meepit! Run! by reply I was inspired by my all time favorite avatar"A Meepit! Run!" So I tried to recreate it on my nails. I hope you like. =) *meep* 
The Sway Nail Art by rowona I decided to do some nail art in honor of every Neopian's favorite secret society - the Sway! The left hand features the Sway seal on the thumb, red-and-gold designs inspired by the Duchess' jewelry, and an abstract gold pattern on the accent nail. The right hand has the word "SWAY" spelled out in a font based on the Sway seal, and a red-and-gold design on the thumb. All over a Duchess-inspired deep purple!

Faerie doll nails by xmx Inspired on the lovely Faeries of Neopia, I decided to do my nails with their doll shape. Using nail polish, a pen for the black lines and paper for details as the stars on the little nails I was able to archive my goal. I hope you enjoy my project! 
Maractite Nails by zweimalzuxys Inspired by one of Neopia's prettiest colors, Maractite. The design on each nail was lifted directly from a Maractite Neopet's artwork to honor their awesomeness! From left thumb to right thumb, the designs were taken from the Lutari, Kougra, Draik, Aisha, Eyrie, Usul, Hissi, Lupe, Peophin, and Shoyru. Second Place Thirty lucky people have 5,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way. 
A Game of Extreme Herder by annuuna Will Samrin the Kacheek get his Babaa and Doglefox to safety or will Balthazar finally get a tasty snack? 
Maths Nightmare Nails by awkw4rd These Babaa-utiful nails were created by awkw4rd. The inspiration? Maths Nightmare. The first four nails depict Babaas jumping amongst the stars and clouds, while the first thumbnail shows one Babaa nearing the fence. Hooray! Two Babaas already made it over the fence, meaning that Imiya (pictured on the next thumbnail) continues to sleep. Don't take too long, though - those math problems are starting to pile up!!! (It looks like it's on Random mode!) ;) 
AwakeNail by chlo26 On my nails are represented the Awakened faction's leaders: The Awakened Twins Sisters! Work all done by myself, with the material shown on the picture only 
Darigan Pride Toes by classicmess As a loyal minion, it was only right that I cover my nails in purple and black! With our Citadel logo on my right big toe, a Darigan Yooyu on my left big toe, and our flag colors everywhere else :3 Jealous much, Kass?

Novas and Dark Novas by dedags I did a nail art with novas on my left hand and dark novas on my right hand. I think they're super cute and very iconic! I did it all on my own natural nails, and painted the novas and dark novas using a paint brush I trimmed myself. First, I painted all my nails with 4 thick coats of a very iridescent top coat to make my nails look pearly, shiny, and mystic-looking. Then, on my left hand, I used yellow and a mix of yellow and white to make the novas' bodies, and brown, black, and white nail polishes to paint their eyes. On my right hand, I painted the dark novas using black and a mix of black and white to create grey, and then, to paint their eyes, I used red, dark red made by mixing red and black, and white nail polishes. I finished it off with a fast drying top coat to seal the design and make my nails even shinier! By the way, I'm very sorry for the pictures' quality; in real life it's a lot more iridescent, but you can see some speckles of pink and green on the image if you look closely! 
SuAP Nail by dichotic Super Atack Pea Nails! I made it using nail polish blue, red and white and half of a real pea. First I painted using the blue one, and then I made the clouds with a stick using the white one. I pasted the pea and made a cape with the red one. I made it on my cousin's hand. Hope you guys like it! 
Meridell nail art by fjant Meridell-style nail art -- now featuring 100% more potatoes! Illustrated, from thumb to pinky: Lisha, Sinsi, Turmaculus, Cheeseroller with Darigan Citadel in background, and Kiss-the-Mortog! All the best things of Meridell. This design took me three hours to make, one-handed. Hope you enjoy! 
Fountain Faerie Inspired Nails by frozenrose30 Naia the fountain faerie was the inspiration for my nail art entry. I tried to capture the essence of the rainbow fountain, from her hair clear down to her fins. 
Poogle Racing by gummbee89_alison89 I made my nails to represent the popular Faerieland game, Poogle Racing. I was inspired by thinking how the length of my fingers could act as a race in progress (Go #4). An orange track, yellow Poogles, and their identifying colours help bring the image together. 
Fabulous Shadow Usul! by kawaiicaroline This nail art I did represent my favorite, sneaky villain the Shadow Usul under several of his fabulous angles. You have the 3/4 left, 3/4 right and a close up on the face on the small nail. The two other nails are representing his way of disappearing. 
Eliv Thade nails by kmilaaaa Inspired by one of my favorite characters of Neopia, Eliv Thade. 
Altador Cup Nails by leni_86 As you can see I painted my nails for the cup, although it is over now. I did it all on my own and on my own nails (I can't do that on others nails XD). I used different colours, a thin paintbrush and a small stick and worked over 6 hours (without the time waiting till it's dry it was just about 2 hours :K). It's an Altador-design, because I thought it's nice to have Remis and the Altador-sign on one of my nails. But you can change this to any team and member you want. the rest is pretty general: the lovely fire yooyu, the crazy techo fan and a slushie. I just ignored the evil jelly chia from the shootout showdown. Have fun trying this on your nails :) 
Roo Island Nails by lindaneopia Altador Cup may end, but the team spirit never fails, right? I got inspired by my team, Roo Island, and painted its players in a minimalistic way (and since I couldn't fit Clutch, I've painted the backgrounds in green). Used artificial nails, acrylic paint and nail polish. 
Warf Rescue Team by lizzy199427 My nails are of the Warf Rescue Team trying to save a green Kadoatie, but they missed by a little bit (oops). 
Meepit vs Feepit by luvintherayne Done on my own nails, an epic battle starts between my index & my ring fever! All colours are those listed, and all art is done strictly with nail polish. White is sponged onto a yellow background and the details were added from there! Now the big question is; who comes out on top? 
Nail painting with paint brushes by mellon235100 I thought I would take this challenge somewhat literally! I painted my own nails as if they had been painted by some of my favorite Neopets paint brushes. Materials used: Somewhere around 20 different nail polish colors, as well as a black and a blue nail pen. 
The Observatory by mistress_fortuna This design was inspired by my favorite part of the Altador plot. Gazing up at the night sky through your E-Z See Telescope in the hopes of discovering a new constellation. 
Tropical Fruits by mistressellipsis I love the tropical fruits of Neopia, and I thought they'd make a great nail art project for summer. Each nail is a different fruit—blunella, elppa, pluburb, honeyplume, turihar berry, agueena, green chyrsaberry, roseatte, astranna, and tigerfruit. 
Plumpy Bacon Nails by mmm_dr_pepper I was inspired by the ever-so-grumpy Plumpy and all of its bacon-glory and made this nail art for the good of Neopia. It was a lot of fun making the design and painting mini bacons on my nails. I hope you love them as much as I do! 
Plushie Kacheek inspired nail art by navyata Its summer time,so cool-toned colors were used to create a nail art inspired by the cutest plushie pet in neopia-Kacheek. I love the shades & patterns used in the plushie kacheek ,which happens to be a favourite among many neopians. Nail paints resembling the shades on a plushie kacheek are used-light pink,mauve.lilac,dark pink,blue,light yellow and black for making stitch lines. P.S. plushie-painted nails feel soft too:) 
Nightsteed nails by nix_simbelmyne The design is inspired by Nightsteed, the dark horse. I painted my sister's nails 
Team Darigan Citadel by ohappyfaced Darigan Citadel has been my favorite team since the first Altador Cup, and I thought I would honor them by painting the players on my nails. My left hand has each player (Layton, Kep, Tandrak, Tormo, and Reshar) and my right hand is an homage to the Darigan skyline seen in the logo. A red and purple gradient serves as a background for each nail. Each nail with players also has black stripes, inspired by the Darigan uniforms. Go DC! 
Pink Slorgs by pinkismyfavcrayon I just had to paint my favorite petpet on my nails, googley eyes and all :) 
Timeline of Neo by sp4de From (my) Right to Left I tried to do a timeline of some of Neo's most influential plots/events. Can you identify them all? 
Oink'ed by thesarcastic These adorable Snorkle-inspired nails are made from yellow, pink, red and black nail polish. If I put my nails together, the five different fingers form the face of a Snorkle. 
Team Roo Island Nails by trafalgarsq From thumb to pinky: The Roo Island team crest, the team colours with King Roo, King Roo's crown, and the ring finger and pinky show only the team's colours. 
Patamoose Nails by usukii What they lack in style, they make up for with pink. 
Krawk Island nails by vixibell My inspiration was Krawk Island, so the logo was a given, as is the traditional stripes of the YYB team. The anchor, ship and treasure all remind us that they're still pirates at heart! All nails painted with regular nail polish and small nail art brushes. 
Plushie Nail Art by whitehouses I couldn't decide on just one concept so I decided to choose a theme: plushie! I then chose my favourite plushie pet, petpet and item to inspire my 3 nail art designs. I had so much fun! :) Featured from top to bottom: Plushie Weewoo, Plushie Chomby, Pink Cupcake Plushie. Third Place Lastly there were 125 runners-up who will each receive 2,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
