Stock Market Stumble
by Balthazar777

I just bought some stock today,
Just feeling I'll do great,
Until I crunch the numbers and
My stock fell from twelve to eight.

Surely I have gone so blind!
This surely isn't right!
They said this is a waiting game,
But I've been waiting all night!

Waiting for the price to climb,
Waiting for numbers crunch.
Waiting to see if stocks will jump
So I won't be broke without lunch.

Suddenly, I see the light!
This is my big break!
Sell it high is what they say,
So this chance I will take!

I walk away from the stocks today
With a smile; my Neopoints the same.
Playing stocks isn't so hard,
Just remember: it's a game.

The Thieves Guild
by Kayixu

The others, they fight,
But we've stolen their swords.
We wait a while 'til night
Before searching for more.

Into the tents of others we sneak,
We came for weapons and maybe food.
We are silent as they sleep,
The obelisk will be ours soon.

Concealed by our black cloaks,
Without a trace, their supplies are gone.
We just stole a few Metallic Motes
And some turn their lanterns on.

We flee for now, but we'll be back --
Isn't that obvious?
We'll retreat to our tents and have a snack.
But hey, why not just steal the obelisk?

Dearest Sparky
by Lilahne_aluoki

Paying my humble respects
At the shrine of Coltzan, great king,
Something unexpected happened,
A wondrous, wonderful thing.
Lovely enough to bring tears to my eyes;
Enough to make my heart sing.

Coltzan's beloved pet Sparky,
A Spardel, had ascended that day,
And while the news brought great sorrow
We knew things would turn out okay,
For Coltzan granted us with a likeness
That, with us, would always stay.

A new winged Petpet, dear Sparky,
To be with us forever more.
To stand by our side in our troubles,
To help us when we go explore.
And after a grueling, long day at work,
Sparky'll greet us at the door.

So, while we still grieve for the Spardel
That was Coltzan's truest friend,
The likeness of Sparky's still with us;
Even hearts that are broken may mend,
As long as we take care to remember:
The love of a Petpet never ends.

Nightsteed
by Zeroxyto

One sight set the town in disarray,
Of a Uni with hooves cloaked in flame.
A single glance of a red gaze,
So who, among the townsfolk, is to blame?
Of a falsely told tale
Following this Uni's trail.

These Neopians spoke of him
With bated breath...
Of the Nightsteed Uni, the bringer of death.
They carefully weaved their tales of fear,
Speaking to loved ones
And those they held dear.
They said he was fast (his hooves were ablaze)
And could carry you off in hundreds of ways.

These myths they held true,
And their terror grew
Of the desert's raider,
An unwelcome invader!
With each passing day,
Their skies went to gray.
Paralyzed with suspicion
Of that Uni's simple mission
To rise from the dead?
To fill them with dread?
The story was jumbled
As they continue to mumble,
Twisting the steed's story,
Erasing any glory
It may have held today.

Ode To The Disco Lil Frankie
by Comawhite333

Someone took the best out of all
And gave it to him,
Sewing it precisely together
Limb to limb.

With a large golden necklace
I think some refer to as bling,
His very presence
Makes my heart sing.

Perfectly styled hair
With an orange hue,
A kaleidoscope of colored skin
But mostly blue.

Those that are trapped
Behind elderly eyes
Feel a sense of nostalgia
As the present dies.

They are catapulted to another place
When he's around,
A place of bright-colored flowers
And a forgotten sound.

Peace, love, and harmony
Is this Petpet's motto,
Making friends with him
Compares to hitting the lotto.

Although he's fairly stiff
Since he was stitched up too tight,
He gets down and dances
Every Friday night.

Others are in awe of him
As he struts his stuff on the dance floor,
When the lights dim and the song ends
They're screaming for more.

He brings nothing but enrichment
To the mundaneness of life.
He cuts out the boredom
Like a Brain Tree Knife.

He's the best Petpet around,
Everyone should see.
Still unconvinced?
Have a night out on the town with us
And you will happily agree.
