OGRIN DAY SPECIAL
Ogrin-Tastic!
by alyndasgallery
Ogrin are a funny bunch,
They love to taste and chew and munch.
With stripy fur and a fluffy mane,
Their coats are definitely not plain!
Ogrin stand on all four feet,
A smarter creature, you won't meet.
At first they come across quite shy,
But soon you'll be pals and time will fly.
Ogrin really love to explore,
They'll wander some, and then some more.
Enjoying nature every day,
As they're having fun at play.
Ogrin are a unique Neopet,
One that we are lucky to have met.
So on this special Ogrin Day,
Be sure to cheer, hip hip hooray!

Ogrin Day Surprise!
by icysnowe
There once was a fine young Ogrin,
Who made heads turn as his mane fluttered in the wind.
Indeed he was quite popular,
Though of this fact he was none the wiser.
Shy by nature, he wandered alone,
Exploring the wilderness on his own.
When other pets stopped by to say hello,
He would bow his head, polite and slow.
Despite his coyness one should be aware,
Of this Ogrin’s kind heart and his love to share.
Whenever his friends were in any trouble,
He would be there, no matter the struggle.
So much his friends loved him; they made a bet,
That this Ogrin would never guess their little secret.
As the Day of Giving drew to an end,
Little did he know that the celebrations had just arisen.
One frosty morning he sat by the window,
Thinking about how lovely it was to be solo.
All of a sudden his doorbell rang,
And stood there were his even lovelier friends!
“Surprise!” they cried, “It’s Ogrin Day!”
“We’re here to invite you to come out and play!"
As the Ogrin glanced out at the snow laden ground,
Such amazing friends he couldn’t believe his luck to have found.

Captain Rourke, Ogrin Sailor
by amarettoball
The green Ogrin captain stepped out
Onto the deck of the SS Primella.
The morning was marked by a cool breeze,
Tickling the fancies of the seafaring fella.
The wooden planks beneath his feet
Didn't feel quite so even today.
It appeared to be tilting to one side
So towards the bow he made his way.
There he was stunned to see
The side of the ship had sprung a leak,
And his crew was running amok
Trying to contain the havoc wreaked.
Scrap the stowaway was hauling buckets,
Handing them to the explorers.
Professor Fairweather was on a barrel,
Saving his books from the wet horrors.
Roxton and Lilian were bailing furiously,
Screaming and tripping in the fray.
So Captain Rourke retreated below deck,
Thinking, "Nope. Not today."

Ogrin Master Haiku
by sophieninetyfive
Ogrin Master waits
Patient as a river-stone
Mindful as an oak
Would-be palace guards
Quaking in their training gear
Sweat under his gaze
Blind though he may be
Opaque eyes somehow convey
Focus; vigilance
Judging reflexes,
Strength and skill of candidates
Tests their worthiness
Somehow he must know
Who is fit and who is not
Destined to succeed
Eyes, he seems to say,
Are but crude tools of the flesh:
True sight is within.

Master Alshemar
by dr_tomoe
The ancient order around
for years studying magic
to keep such great powers
from causing something tragic
And all the great wizards and witches
from Jerdana to Morguss
looked to their leader Rasala
and others like Belisarius
Though she is the head of the Order
she still sets things on fire
and for tough things she goes
to her old master Alshemar.
This wise old Ogrin
is considered a master wizard
and he's a strict tutor
for someone so grizzled
He taught most Order members
every trick of the trade
until he stepped aside
to let a new generation lead
But one would be foolish
to count the old Ogrin out
his powerful magic can
knock you out with a shout
So just because he's elderly
and no longer in the lead
crossing Master Alshemar
is a trek one should not tread

Limericks in Honor of Ogrin Day
by clairevoiant
There once was a sweet little Ogrin
Who asked me how I have been:
I didn’t know what to say,
And he almost ran away
When I told him there’s broccoli in his grin!
There once was an Ogrin of custard
Who seemed to be very flustered:
I tried to ask why,
And he said with a cry,
“It’s because I taste like MUSTARD!”
There once was an Ogrin painted green
Who often made quite a scene;
He was extremely bossy,
And sat with his posse-
No, wait! It was only a bean!

Ogrin Maid Outfit
by indulgences
All hail the humble Ogrin maid!
She's dressed in sweetest pink.
A darling shirt is covered by
An apron white and thick!
A wig that covers up her head
Is lush with ebony locks.
A stunning cap of white damask
Is placed so nice atop!
The shoes are truly dainty things.
They're shiny, black affairs.
Their tips are pointy, cute and small.
They're sleek and debonair!
The skirt is black, and has a lot
Of pockets at the sides.
They hold the maid's most treasured tools,
And handkerchiefs besides!
All celebrate the Ogrin maid!
Her outfit's wonderful!
She's gorgeous, simply marvelous,
And simply beautiful!

O Ogrin! My Ogrin!
by xxsicklullabiesxx
O Ogrin! my Ogrin! we honor you tonight,
Your fur so stripe'd here and there, your mane so straight and bright,
Your eyes so kind, and this I know, you're still so timid and shy,
But I'll befriend you anyway, creature as blue as sky;
Blue O blue! blue! blue!
O the Ogrins color'd green,
We'll paint them all such joyous things
The best you've ever seen.
O Ogrin! my Ogrin! celebrate you today;
Hooray - my friend we cheer for you - for you hip hip hooray,
For you we honor all your worth - for you the town's a-crowding,
For you Neopia cheers aloud, their voices are astounding;
Here Ogrin! dear Ogrin!
This day is shared to you!
The 28th day of Celebrating,
We love you through and through.

The Ancient Ogrin
by binky1260
High atop a hill on a clear moonlit night
Beside a sparkling waterfall
Sat an ancient Ogrin
In quiet contemplation;
He had spent many nights on this hill
In meditation,
With the smoothing sound of the water
Calming his thoughts,
Alone but not lonely,
For as he gazed upon the stars
Twinkling brilliantly in the night sky
Like glitter on black velvet,
The constellations filled him with wonder
And a sense of peace,
For he knew that he was among friends
Whose unwavering guidance never faltered.

Armarat the Awesome & Fito the Foolish
by forever_future
Standing tall, with long white beard,
A hat and robes of deep green,
A staff of great power in his hand,
Armarat took his position.
An Ogrin great in age,
No-one knew which number exactly.
At the head of battle, trained in great magic,
The Ogrin wizard stood proud.
Armarat was ready to fight, without fear,
Prepared with great training and pride.
Stood behind him are members,
Of an army, representing Meridell,
In a quest to find new lands.
Each soldier powerful, dedicated.
Early that morning, they had come here,
Trespassing into the territory of Lord Darigan.
Mad with power, filled with rage,
The enemy troops readied to fight.
Among the Meridell army, a brave and foolish Ogrin,
Fito. Young and eager, he neared the front line.
Wanting a closer look, he edged towards the battleground.
He peeked through gaps between soldiers.
He neared and neared, desiring a new view.
He came up behind Armarat, clutching his sword.
Fito watched as the elder Ogrin lifted his staff high.
The wood warmed with power, a spell close.
Fito fell forward, pushing over the wizard.
The staff fell, releasing a bolt of magic above the army.
Sparks rained down, a rainbow of colours.
Then the battlefield disappeared.
Soon the warriors found themselves,
In a new land, a place unknown to them.
Armarat stood, eyeing his surroundings with a frown,
In his surprise, he had miscast the spell and
Teleported his group to the first place he'd thought of.
"Neorca," he growled, remembering the scene.
His short comment echoed through the warriors,
Fito picked himself up, dusting away dirt,
"Neorca?" He questioned the elder. "Is that far away?"
The wizard nodded grimly and knelt near the boy, "very far."
"How far?" Fito quickly asked, "can we get home?"
"Not soon," the Armarat shrugged and shook his head,
The white hairs of his beard tickling the youngling's face.
The others studied the scene about them, the new land.
Neorca was quite white, a glow emanating from the ground.
Each tree or flower shone with light, each blade of grass,
And even the dirt and rocks took a shine most bright.
Rather than fear, Fito took his mistake in stride,
Instead he remained calm and tried to fix the problem.
"What can we do?" He questioned the wizard, who stayed silent.
Armarat began writing and soon the elder Ogrin presented a list.
"I will need these ingredients," he spoke loudly.
Each soldier nodded, stepping forward and volunteering.
Fito prepared each ingredient, passing them on,
To Armarat who stirred them into his cauldron, swirling the spoon.
It was not easy, and it continued for more than fifty days.
Though no more ingredients were necessary,
The soldiers grew excited, searching further.
Taking samples of local flora and fauna.
Many reports came back to base camp,
Making note of the things that had seen and done.
Whilst the Ogrins, young and old, worked on the spell.
It was eventually finished and he let it cool.
As soon as it was cold, he used his staff to spray the solution.
It rained down and each 'pet soon found themselves in Meridell.
"Can we go back to Neorca soon?" Fito questioned.
Armarat nodded, "If that's what you would like,
I'm sure we can find some friends to join us."
"I would like that very much," Fito nodded.
