A Day With Elephantes

The Elephantes are gathered today,
Trumpeting pride and shouting “Hooray!”
For this is the day when their friends lift them high
And their trunks blare their favourite tunes up to the sky.

So pop open the peanuts and pass them around
For where there are peanuts, Elephantes are found!
Just remember to watch out and keep a sharp eye, 
For out from their trunks, projectile peanuts will fly! 

And when stomachs are sated and peanuts consumed,
Down to the water the Elephantes all zoom,
The next line of business is to cool off and play
In the sparkling river to finish the day.

For only once every year does Neopia share
In the day of the Elephantes who live without care.
So if you see an Elephante sometime today,

A Host Like No Other

The dapper Elephante glided onto the stage
As the crowd erupted in a roar!
His smile glistened in the spotlight
As he took his spot behind the podium.
"Welcome to Neopies!" He declared
And the red curtain read lifted
Revealing rows of trophies
Shining like bright stars in the night sky.

A new wave of excitement filled the room
As Neopians young and old sat with anticipation 
For their exuberant host to guide them into event.

You’re not in the Attic—oh wait, now I know:
Behold the Neopian Foods Shop in all its glory
And the lone Elephante at a scene quite gory:
The remains were everywhere, it was really quite a sight
To see all those Bags of Peanuts gulped in one bite.
“You’re lucky,” the Chia said, glowering and mad,
“We’ve got more in stock than ever we’ve had,
Just come on in the back and then you’ll see,
My good new friend, the Elephante!”
That was our gluttonous pachyderm’s first clue
In realizing the nasty deeds this Chia wanted to do.

Oh, what a pleasing day! 
The park is filled with festive cheer, 
For Elephante Day!

But in the throng of joy, there sits, 
A Grey Elephante.
She contemplates if there, she fits,
If she should stay away. 

Carefully meandering through, 
She tries to leave the crowd. 
But she is stopped by Neopets, two, 
Who ask her, out aloud:

"It's Elephante Day today! 
Why do you wear a frown? 
You should be running round to play, 
Instead of feeling down!"

But resist a disease he couldn't

Victim to the vicious strain he fell
Drinking juice in bed

When all but hope was lost

A cure for his sickness was found
Neopox Pizza that is now renowned 
From the day on, Pacha vowed
And took an oath out loud
To treat Petpets that were injured 
He made potions of honey and ginger
"Tyrannian Petpets" was then opened
To find homes for those he mended
Petpets are now safe and warm
To his words he did conform

When one of them pointed and said "Here, look,
A giant peanut tree, that would be good.
We should try to find one, in the woods."
And so the brothers went on a walk,
And along the way they had a good talk.
They came upon a bunch of trees,
And said "My, my, now, what are these?"
"This tree has blairnuts, which look kind of funny,
And this tree has pecans, which are very yummy.
This one has gleenuts, that fill you with glee,
And this one has spironuts, which make you happy.
Over here, there are almonds, and some cashews,
Pine nuts, walnuts, and chestnuts, too!"
"On this tree, tonunuts, and this one, some greycorns,
And these ones here are all Ixi acorns.
And here are some hazelnuts and pistachios,
And here is where all of the coconuts grow.
Including the evil ones, on these palms here.
They don't like when you come near.
So many nuts, from here to there,
but I don't see peanuts anywhere!"
Disheartened, the brothers headed home,
And sat by the water, throwing stones.
When they got bored, they decided to make,
Some sand smoothies and sand pancakes.
One brother dug into the sand,
And pulled out something with his hand.
It was a peanut. He said "No way!
I found a peanut and it's gourmet!
No wonder there's no peanut trees around!
It's because peanuts grow underground!"
