The Perfect Gift

‘Twas the 24th day of the Advent season
And all the Pets in Neopia were hustling. 
With just a night till the Day of Giving
All the shops were booming and bustling. 

Amongst the crowds was a little Shoyru,
Rustling through the treasure troves,
Eager to seek out the perfect gift 
For her Faellie whom she dearly loves. 

The Shoyru first perused the aisles
Of the famous Petpet supplies store. 
But none of the products suited her Faellie
So she left empty handed, searching for more. 

Perhaps she could get her Faellie a Pet
To call her own, a Petpetpet. 
A cloud-like Strale, or an endearing Mootix,
But alas, they all cost more than she had. 

With limited time and still few ideas,
The Petpet Puddle caught her attention. 
Would her Faellie desire a makeover?
Spring, Island, Pink - so many options. 

Faerie would enhance her ethereal beauty,
Spring would suit her bright personality. 
But though these options seemed fantastic
She adored her as a simple Faellie. 

So alas, the Shoyru again came up empty,
Unable to find a gift she wanted. 
As nightfall came, and shops soon closed,
She slowly went home, disappointed. 

At her home’s door awaited her Faellie,
Welcoming her in with warm embrace. 
And as the pair hugged the Shoyru realized 
The perfect gift is the memories they’ll make.

The Ice Bori, My Dream Pet

The first time I saw an Ice Bori,
I fell in love instantly
Its beautiful and shiny colour
Caught my attention very constantly.

I told myself: "One day I'll have one!
And I'll love and care for it every single day!"
But it's not an easy species and colour to get
Not even in their species' birthday.

And so, my dream seemed impossible
Because not even in the Pound could I get one
All the abandoned Ice Bori turned Blue
And not even the Mad Scientist can zap it with his gun.

The days passed and my love for them never faded
Until a light at the end of the tunnel shined on me
It was now possible to transfer the Pets
And then my heart leaped with glee.

I went to search for an Ice Bori on the Neoboards
If a new family someone was searching for
I would be more than ready to accept as mine,
And get this lovely Pet that I adore.

However, the search was in vain
For this colour and species was loved for real
No one wanted to donate or trade 
And I ended up with no deal.

But giving up wasn't in my plans
And I took my shot at the Holiday Dream Neopet Giveaway
If I were one of the few lucky Neopians,
I would have an Ice Bori on Christmas Day.

And then my dream finally came true,
Into an Ice Bori my Pet was transformed!
My other Pets and I cheered on his new colour
And my heart, by it, was completely warmed.

So I say to never give up on your dream
If it's an Ice Bori or just another one,
Keep trying and stay focused
Because the sun shines for everyone!

The robes are lined with gorgeous fur,
The finest ever seen!

It wears a cap with tassel gold
That glitters, warm and bright.
It holds a staff within its hand,
A truly lovely sight!

The Christmas Vandagyre is such
A thing of joy and glee!
I might consider making one…
Or maybe two or three!

The Giving Day Way

The morning breaks with whispers bright,
A world aglow in dawn's soft light.
Snowflakes dance on frosty air,
Joy and peaceful everywhere.

A tree adorned with sparkling light,
Nearby a stove so warm, so beautifully bright.
Stockings hung with loving care,
Festive Borovan steaming the air.

Table set, candles glowing,
A peek through the window shows it's begun snowing.
In from the cold with a stomp and a laugh,
Family has gathered with gifts freshly wrapped.

A bubbling pot all ready to go,
There's no better balm, though it's harsh on the nose.
Hot chocolate for sweetness, asparagus for health,
A mug full of Borovan is better than wealth!

So hold off on the gifts,
They'll be safe under the tree.
Sit down with your loved ones,
Share a sip... or two, or three.

Holiday Baking With Grandma

Prepares delights for the holidays.
The kitchen is equipped, prepped, and messy,
She enjoys baking with her grandkids on cold winter days.

SLAM - WHOOP - THUD - CRACKLE
There are many jobs to tackle.

The kitchen gets noisy during this time of year,
As there are many cookie sheets to fill.
She rallies the grandkids around her,
To pass on her baking skills.

Messy dishes pile up in the sink.

She measures out the ingredients,
Giving each grandkid a turn.
Helping grandma with baking,
Is their favourite time to learn.

Mixing ingredients and watching them sizzle.

Aggy readies the baking sheets,
She sets a timer for the oven.
With impatient little faces looking in,
Explaining time will give the desserts some lovin'.

DING - CREAK - SIZZLE - AWE
The desserts are ready and dropping jaws.

Now, it's the grandkids' favourite time,
Aggy pulls out the decorating kits.
Sprinkles and candy fall to the floor,
As Aggy puts away her oven mitts.

SPRINKLE - DRIP - CRACKLE - CRUNCH
What would decorating be without a little munch?

The desserts are prepped and ready to go,
The kitchen cleaned and the grandkids well fed.
After a successful day baking with grandma, 
They await her to put them to bed.
