Haunted House Screams
by ningkov1

Enter if you dare
Of ghoulish creatures beware,
Floorboards creaking
A Miamouse squeaking

Spooky Skull Candle ready
Determination steady,
Hoping to find some treasures
Not terrifying dwellers

Ghostly apparitions float by
Spyders fall from the sky,
A bloodcurdling scream from above
A Candy Vampire’s little shove

Through the house of horrors
Afraid to turn corners,
Finally an unlocked door
What lies in store?

Open the door and scream
Is this real or just a dream?
Body shaking as you reach out
And give another shout

“Inside a Pumpkin Trinket! So cute!!!!”
You skip out with your loot,
Even the ghosts are surprised
Following right behind

You exit the house and wave
Goodbye to those back from the grave,
“Come back soon,” the ghosts smile
“We’ll be here for a while!”

A Kougra’s Changing Stripes
by maculose

Colours were turning from greens to reds.
Pets were cleaning out their flower beds.
One Kougra had started and was glad.
Her stripes would change, not making her mad.

Her stripes were special, don’t you see?
They were vines with flowers as bright as can be.
Now that Autumn was finally here,
The flowers would turn to something dear.

The flowers became leaves, both red and brown.
Some were yellow which caused no frown.
As the stripes turned, others’ jaws would drop.
They couldn’t help staring and could not stop.

“What magic is this?!” an Acara exclaimed.
Others were jealous of all of this fame.
The Kougra loved the attention but her head was not big.
She just continued to garden and did a small jig.

She went inside and poured a drink,
The smell of pumpkin spice made her think.
Autumn was full of beauty that others ignored.
Her stripes helped show this causing Autumn to score.

Coconut Brave
by midnightfrost444

"Coconut Shy" described him well;
That little JubJub who knew that ahead
The Haunted Fairground stood in wait.
With a game he was drawn to, as if by fate.

Coconut JubJub, alone and afraid.
Out in the dark and scary woods.
Fearing to go forth into the unknown,
And face the darkness, far from home.

The rules are simple, or so he's heard.
Knock one down and win a prize.
A coconut game, out here of all places!
Though the prizes have rather scary faces.

But even though he's afraid to try,
He knows that courage isn't being unafraid.
It's facing your fears, even all alone.
So Coconut Brave strides forth, into the unknown.

The Iceworm
by dragonlord812

Deep within its icy lair,
lives a beast who hates to share.
A worm so large it's like a wyrm;
A fearsome face that will make you squirm.

Lying on its pile of treasure,
a pile of goods that none can measure.
The beast sleeps but thrice a day.
Other times you best stay away.

If it sees you, it may attack;
Turning you into it's next snack.
Or it will use its icy breath;
which might send you to your death.

So if you wish to gain a prize.
Take care to avoid its icy eyes
Grab your goods and run away,
Or this may be your last day.

But if you really want to delve,
Wait till the month is numbered twelve.
The beast is found in hibernation.
Off the guard of its own station.

Either way, you must take care
If you wander to its lair.
A fearsome ice worm in its den;
The Snowager always waits within.

An Ode to my MSPP
by i_lovee_icecream

Dear Malevoline,
You are a sight unseen.
Your appearance is quite mean,
But I believe you are somewhere in between.

A Poogle MSP,
Stitched just for me.
With patches on your knees,
And a thread quality guarantee.

So very nice,
With a heart cold as ice.
But I know that you would sacrifice;
For your family, you would pay any price.

A Poogle MSP,
Stitched just for me.
With patches on your knees,
And a thread quality guarantee.

Teeth like daggers,
Adds to your mean swagger.
Your bad breath makes me stagger,
And your temper massive as black matter.

A Poogle MSP,
Stitched just for me.
With patches on your knees,
And a thread quality guarantee.

A smile so white,
It gives me quite a fright.
Your beady red eyes bright,
Polka dots so darling, yet trite.

A Poogle MSP,
Stitched just for me.
With patches on your knees,
And a thread quality guarantee.

Kass Basher
by fivemilliononly

Welcome to Kass Basher the game
It is a popular sport in Meridell
Players aim for glory and fame
Do you have what it takes to do well?

You play as a Blue Blumaroo under a tree
He holds a different stick in each stage
Drop the Kass doll when you are ready
Hit it hard and unleash your rage

Pay attention to the strength of the wind
It can change the course of your score
Waiting for the right wind might be a grind
but winners always wait for it to rise and soar

There is an easy way to score high
If you are lucky, you get the tree as your stick
Aim carefully to hit the doll to the sky
and bring home the trophy with this easy trick

Tavi the Kyrii
by togepwi

A Kyrii and the Grey Faerie
An unlikely pair
But they work well together
Each doing their fair share

Previously, Tavi freed Baelia
After outsmarting a lock in a game
They became good friends
To find Baelia a new name

But that's now on hold
As they were called to Altador
Neopia needs their help
There's no way they could ignore!

With the mysterious void
They're off to Kiko Lake
Tavi tries to lighten the mood
Since there's quite a lot at stake

With additions to the group
Tavi is their glue
She's friendly and welcoming
Even to those who are new!

Cry Together
by prulletje1852

There once was a little Moehog
Grey, always sad and in distress
People called him the Woehog,
Filled with tears, his face: a mess!

Wilted flowers and yellow grass
It didn't take much for him to cry
Grey skies and slightly ugly hats
and his eyes never became dry!

For this little Moehog, oh so sad,
The biggest grief was for sure
not having a fitting cute Petpet
To combat loneliness and to assure!

But the Moehog's cries were loud
and scared the little Petpets, too
So most Petpets were not allowed
How to see this situation through?

The solution came unexpectedly:
A Kadoatie, also fond of crying
Found under the Money Tree
The perfect fit, there is no denying!

Now, the Woehog's life is less sad
They cry together quite a lot
But crying together with his Petpet,
Feels almost happy if you squint!

Petpetpets!
by devotedly

I went outside to water
My garden the other day
And these are all the Petpetpets
I met along the way!

A tiny Pebble hiding
Upon my rocky path
Camouflaged into the stones
He’ll trip you for a laugh!

A little Fleaf had fallen
With the other Autumn leaves
Whilst a Ditrey was floating
Upon a gentle breeze

The flowers are beginning to droop
Springabee looks on sadly
Yet the Unidentified Petpetpet
Is eating the rotten bits gladly!

Skidget and Wormoeba
Snuggle down inside their homes
Aboogala is getting excited
For Halloween’s bumps and groans!

Glyme and Snailien slither on
To their cozy and warm nests,
All Petpetpets are getting ready
For their winter hibernating rests!

Donny
by betti666

Atop Terror Mountain, there is a small shop
Which hosts Donny’s repairs, into which you pop
Where broken toys find life anew
Fixed with determination, a Fuzzle of Blue

The Bori smiles, with fur of red
And a woolly hat upon his head
With gentle claws and eyes so keen
He stitches seams ‘til they can’t be seen

The shop is filled with tools galore
Hammers, nails, and paints to pour
A mix of gears, springs, and glue
This Bori knows just what to do

A Fake Uni Hat, a Scooter’s bust wheel
He makes them whole with hidden zeal
And though he may be wracked with coughs
It’s worth it for the repairs’ payoffs

Sometimes he’ll even waive your fee
And fix your wares entirely free
So if you have a toy in need of repair
Take it to Donny, and he’ll take good care

The Origin of the Quiggle
by neoaggie99999

For Quiggles, we all do celebrate
This model species of amphibian.
Over an arc of artistic updates,
We trace back to when it had first began.

Its history of evolution
Stepped into plain 2D without much pomp.
Eyes spinning in dizzying confusion,
Webbed feet madly waddling in place - enter Frogstomp!

A lumpy pouch body lacked in much
Save for the awkward smile drawn in squiggle
Slapped on its face as a finishing touch
And hereby, Frogstomp was redubbed the Quiggle!

But it was soon due for an overhaul
As this digital pet world rapidly grew.
Time to redraw its frame, limbs, and eyeballs
Brimming with exuberance in its debut.

Mouth agape in boisterous expression,
Wideset eyes still subtly misaligned,
Limbs enlarged, crown-shaped for this new version,
Tapered stripes paired along its body line.

Left foot thrusting forward instead of right
Though both adjust in reorientation
Changes considered relatively slight
In the following third iteration.

Turn to the modern Quiggle we now know,
Posing more demurely while upright it stands,
With an understated smile it shows
Its demeanour remains true to its brand.

Through the years and all its transformations,
It constantly held to its fun, silly traits.
And what's lasted for all this duration
Remains the Quiggle, our beloved playmate!

A Symol's Year
by 9kas

Deep down inside the mysterious Hole,
In darkness a Symol lives without peers.
And dark it remains as days come and go,
So how does the Symol measure a year?

Fall: the season of abundant harvest,
Foliage fading to shades of amber.
Perhaps a few float and fall down the Hole,
Telling the Symol it’s the end of summer.

Winter: the first flurries of snow arrive,
Delicate flakes that sparkle and scintillate.
An icy speck of snow falls on his lips,
Reminding the Symol it’s time to hibernate.

Spring: when new leaves sprout from branches,
As pastel flowers bloom and grow.
The Symol awakens to the scent of spring,
Sweet floral aromas tickling his nose.

Summer: as warmth saturates the air
Both above the Hole and down below.
Rays of sunshine seep through the soil,
Instantly warming the Symol’s soul.

So through each of the changing signs
The Symol senses what season is near.
But on occasion a heartwarming sound
Alerts the Symol of what day is here:

“Happy Symol Day!” all Neopians say
In celebration of the Petpet so dear.
The Symol smiles happily in his dark haven,
Embracing this love that marks another year.

Down for Maintenance Pteri
by gumgum101230

Just as I was about to win
An impressive trophy,
"The site is down for maintenance!"
Declared the Red Pteri.

"You should have planned for this nuisance!"
The Pteri smugly avowed.
"For this occasion has been planned
For several weeks by now!

"Will the site remain in stasis
For the expected time?
Or will Neopia become
Eternally offline??"

I rolled my eyes at the Pteri
For I knew his words were fake;
The sign in front assured me that
My cherished Pets were safe.

Instead, I waited patiently
In anticipation;
Will this begin a new event
To spawn a new occasion?

Even if the downtime only
Fixes minor errors,
I know that when the site's back up
I'll fight this evil Pterror!

They Are Now Grey
by tatyanne

Stop the Grandfather Clock, cut off the Can Telephone,
Confiscate the Doglefox’s precious Petpet Bone.
Silence the Spring Piano, play the Gloomy Drums,
See all these shopkeepers; watch the Greyness come.

Look up and see the ominously cloudy day,
Mournful cries ring out, “They are now Grey!”
Don your Grey Linen Cloak or Delicate Grey Dress,
Listen as your thoughts whisper, “Everything’s a mess.”

Greyness is creeping into all Neopian Lands,
The transformation is slowly getting out of hand.
Greyness enshrouds the morning, noon and night,
How can we even think of putting up a fight?

Grey gloom and doom seep deep into every soul,
Laughter and joy supplanted by despair and woe.
Heavy hearts weighed down, feel the sorrowful ache,
Our spirits have been tethered and our hopes unawake.

The stars have dimmed, Greyness extinguished every one,
Saddened moon Kreludor and disheartened the sun.
Greyness drained Maraqua and leached into the Haunted Woods,
How can there ever again be anything good?

Tea Time Questing for Tavi
by alagfalaswen

I traipse right down to where Tavi
is sitting, waiting patiently
with Tea Time things to ask of me.

She says it’s good for their morale,
and will some pessimism quell
and cause gloominess to dispel.

She only needs a single thing,
and so, into action I spring
to find and immediately bring

it to Tavi– but, oh despair!
This item’s price’s gone up, I swear!
Thus, I dig around for a spare

In my deposit box, where I
thankfully have an old supply
and thus am spared the need to buy.

Tavi’s gratefulness as she brews
the tea to help chase off the blues
makes it all worth it to amuse.
