Random Poetry Day Special

Farewell Summer Days
by ningkov1

Summer drawing to a close
A little sunburned on the nose
So many memories made,
Though looking forward to some shade

Summer days spent by the campfire
In Unis Clothing's latest summer attire,
Scary stories told all night
Too scared to sleep due to fright

Summer days spent in the pool
Under the water clear and cool,
Kikos and Flotsams new friends
Wishing summer would never end

Summer days spent on Mystery Island
Playing Beach Volleyball on the sand,
Fresh fruits so juicy and sweet
A lucky Tombola spin quite the treat!

Summer days spent at festivals
New food and fun collectibles,
From Brightvale to Usukicon
So many celebrations gazed upon

Summer days spent at the Altador Cup
So much excitement never a slump,
For Team Faerieland nothing but love
Hope at the end they stand above

Summer days spent helping Dr. Landelbrot
Mountains of Void Essences steadily got,
The rift is hard to understand,
But trust in Fyora’s grand plan

Summer days spent volunteering
For those fighting the Void cheering,
The Neopian Hospital full of heroes
What the future holds no one knows

The glowing rays of the setting sun
After summer there’ll still be some fun
New adventures in every season
Life in Neopia can’t be beaten!

Giant Walein of Faerieland
by mango_

Walein, Walein, Walein, Walein,
I'm ready to climb on for the ride.
Walein, Walein, Walein, Walein,
Through the sky, with clouds you'll glide.

You shimmer in the sun's warm light,
Oh, Walein, what a wondrous sight.
In shades of blue, you shine so bright,
With your "OoooOo", you make everything right.

There's magic in the air when you appear,
With you, there's nothing I need to fear.
Neopia Central fades below,
As we fly wherever the breezes blow.

Oh, Walein, your heart is true,
No friend could ever be as great as you.
With every flap and every glide,
You carry me with joyful pride.

Walein, Walein, Walein, Walein
Together we'll sail, you and I,
Walein, Walein, Walein, Walein
With your "OoooOo", we'll soar and fly.

The Kindness of the Hospital Volunteers
by _brainchild_

Been injured in a grisly fight?
The Hospital will make it right.
With dedicated volunteers,
You do not have a thing to fear.

A Voidling gave you broken bones?
Soon, you'll no longer have to groan.
A cast will get you into shape,
And it will cover every scrape!

A Void Blade's swipe has poisoned you?
My friend, you'll no longer feel blue
When volunteers give medicine
To ease your symptoms, with a grin.

So, if you're feeling really sick
Or battered, then you should be quick
To visit us. We'll help you out!
We're very friendly, without doubt.

Edna's Not Bad, Just Not Very Good
by decaf0n

In a tower in the midst of the Haunted Woods
Lives a witch of some renown
Having great skill, you'd think she should
But to think such might let you down

You see, Edna's not the best at magic stuff
Despite how much she's tried
Often the outcomes are a little rough
Like the incident with the Meerca Pie

When she finally tracks down the right spell
Ingredients she's always lacking
Offer to help if you can stand the smell
And she'll grant you a reward (plus some cackling)

Some might assume that she's a touch vile
With the questionable spellcraft and such
But honestly, I just think that's her style
And to think she's evil's a bit much

So the next time this Zafara you decide to see
With your Magic Items, Medicine, or Candy
Help Edna out with an ingredient or three
Just...be sure to keep an escape route handy

My Special Scorchio, Sewings
by chai7705

Today I will honour my adorable friend
A special Scorchio named Sewings
Together for years, and I'll stay 'til the end
My love for him just keeps on growing!

In Year Seventeen was when we first met
That Plushie Neopet, oh so cute!
At that time, he wasn't one of mine quite yet
Before me was someone named Flute!

I told her of love and pure admiration
To Neopia and all that it's shown
And to Sewings, I promised sure dedication
To care for him as he were my own

Just a few days after my birthday
What a day I'll never forget!
I adopted that Scorchio on that Thursday
And Sewings became my Neopet.

We read some great books, like Scorchio Dreams
Especially way late in the night
When one grew too tired, we'd be a tag team
Trading off pages by candlelight

Chocolate Scorchio treats were so sweet
The perfect snacks for us to bite
Sewings liked to try all he could eat
In Dark, Milk, Mint, Orange, and White!

He always loved little Scorchio Plushies
They looked just like him, if a bit small
And he really gets quite a bit mushy
For his Plushie Slorg, who's been there through it all!

Over the years, Sewings has stayed by my side
And for that I'm forever blessed
So today and everyday, I'm beaming, wide-eyed
In awe of my Sewings. He's the best!

Wheel of Monotony (an Acrostic)
by midnightfrost444

Some say the wheel never stops.
Time ticks by, eternally.
I'd say that you'll be here quite a while.
Lucky you brought something to read.
Looks like while you wait, you're immobile.

Some say not to bother with this wheel.
Perhaps it would be easier to just quit.
Is the prize going to be any good?
Now you're praying this will be worth it.
Not long now. It's been quite a while.
Is that Quiggle checking the time?
No giving up now, but...
Getting a bad prize would be a crime!

The Pound Hissi’s Job
by togepwi

I work at the Neopian Pound
We are open year round
If you want to see me more
Come towards the transfer door!

The Pound Hissi is what they call me
In a transfer, I ensure both parties agree
Your pet is safe with me for the duration
One may even say they're taking a vacation!

You may think I'm cold
From the system I uphold
Or maybe because I'm a robot
But it would be an incorrect thought

It's just not an easy job
When you get the occasional snob
Just sending off Neopets without any care
How is that even fair?

Though there are moments that are rewarding
Those are the ones worth recording
I love seeing Neopets
Getting into new homes with no regrets

Next time you transfer to a friend
Just know I’m working diligently on the backend
I'm very good at this job since I do it everyday
You'll see me notify you each step of the way!

The Perfectly Flat Rock Quarrel
by ophiopogon

In a quarry, on the floor,
In Altador,
Are two JubJub workers in an uproar.

One blue, one green,
Both equally steamed,
Back and forth, each of them scream:

"It's a PERFECTLY FLAT rock quarry!"
"No, it's a PERFECTLY FLAT ROCK quarry!"

Their shouts reverberate,
Off the level slate,
Neither of them working; both worked up into a state.

Two JubJubs fuming,
Their voices booming,
But the subject of their fight, confusing.

'Perfectly Flat' has a nice impact,
Definitely describes the rocks that are neatly stacked.

'Perfectly Flat Rock'; that's hard to knock.
It sure works well to define their stock.

But neither 'Jub saw,
Awaiting with awe,
A stranger stood waiting to take from their store.

To replace a book,
Under a table that shook
When the tome was removed from its balancing nook.

The Book of Ages,
With all its blank pages,
Only to be filled after each of the plot's stages.

Even after the final council meeting,
Long after that plot completing,
Those two JubJubs, to this day, still competing.

A Grey Kougra
by betti666

It’s not my fault people think I’m sad
I’m Grey from head to toe
Though inside I am quite content
My face ain’t saying so

I can spruce myself up in bright colourful clothes
Dance around, express delight
But when others see me just so Grey
They ask if I’m alright

My eyes may have a reddish hue
That looks like I’ve been crying
Don’t worry though I’m not upset
Though you may think I’m lying

In books I find a certain solace
Imagining Neopians more like me
Where no one makes assumptions
Based on what they see

I dream of when I might just get
A dip in Naia’s fountain
For now though I guess I’ll stay as grey
As the rocks of Terror Mountain

So judge me not by my exterior
For underneath, my spirit soars
In shades of Grey I am depicted
But inside my Kougra essence roars.

Orion at the Altador Cup
by dennykins

Between the games of Yooyuball,
And Slushie Slinging cheers,
An urgent Ogrin made a call,
To warn us of his fears.

This fellow’s name is Orion,
And we’ve seen him before.
He serves as an event tie-in,
He’s not one to ignore.

The screen, it crackled with static,
Orion made his plea.
His tone was very emphatic,
Dishevelled, all could see.

Orion spoke of his visions,
Linked somehow to the plot.
From blurry squares came decisions,
To find the mystery spot.

It seems that this Altador Cup,
Was not like all the rest.
Orion was there, so something’s up,
As Kari can attest.

The Faerie Festival draws near,
And we anticipate:
Will further visions soon appear?
We all can barely wait!

Random Event Haikus
by one_headlight

Look, an alien!
Wait, is this Ketchup Ice Cream?
Where is my Nerkmid!?

Something is falling!
Stone Wardrobe lands in your lap,
Space Faerie, that hurt.

You see Plesio,
Fancy a spin on our wheel?
Or not, whatever.

Mugged by skeletons,
They took all my Neopoints!
Hate Terror Mountain.

Watch out for that THUNK!
Coconut took a level,
Can't even keep it.

What's that awful smell?
Overalls covered in dung,
Come visit the dump!

Take this Icy Negg,
Find more at the Neggery!
Next one is not free.

Hide! It's a zombie!
Did it drop a treasure map?
Don't trust that at all.

Monocerous roars,
I ate sixteen JubJubs once!
Uhh, thanks for sharing.

Scary Red Pteri,
Hope you finished your dailies,
Scheduled maintenance.

Better Than You
by fivemilliononly

So you have the skills of a game master?
Then get ready to prove it
Every week there is a new contender
With a challenging score to defeat

Better Than You is a weekly contest
Hosted by a Kyrii with classy style
Beating a high score is the test
Can you win and walk away with a smile?

Some games require skills and wit
Play smart to rise above the rest
Luck-based games can be tough to beat
But keep at it to be the best

A rare item is the reward
along with a trophy and Neopoints
For some, this challenge can be hard
Only the better players can score the points

Battling the Void
by maddie_bangz

Our brave and heroic Neopets
Have joined together to fight this curse
Because having these shades take over Neopia
Well… we can’t really think of anything worse

Neopets everywhere are donning their battle gear
And bravely stepping up to fight at the Barracks
They won’t be afraid as they step into their ring
And refuse to let doubt bring them to hysterics

The Voidlings are mysterious little creatures
They appeared one day through a rift in the sky
And now they’re descending upon Neopia
Spreading their curse with the blink of an eye

It’s up to our fierce warriors to defeat them now
By using their training in the Battledome
To show these Voidlings they cannot take over
And destroy our Neopets’ beloved home

Stock up on your weapons and potions to prepare
For the long battles ahead throughout this plot
These Voidling creatures won’t see it coming
When our Neopets give these fights all that they’ve got!

Niten Hiroru, Kiko Ninja
by precious_katuch14

Niten Hiroru,
A fearsome Kiko ninja,
Master of the blade.

Behind his black hood,
His face carries many scars,
From his checkered past.

He is vigilant,
Always watching, attentive,
His eyes miss nothing.

When bandits arrive,
Niten Hiroru's ready,
A portent of doom.

His hands clasp the hilt,
Of his trusty katana,
Gleaming in the light.

He strikes, slashes,
Never missing a target,
Reaping victory.

And when he is done,
His katana melts away,
Into the shadows.

He accepts no thanks,
Niten Hiroru just leaves.
He was never there.

Marie Scarborough
by tatyanne

Twigs snapped beneath my feet,
As I walked in the Haunted Woods.
I heard not a single tweet,
In this forsaken hood.

Hidden in this graveyard,
Lay a sweet, forgotten soul.
Deep in my solemn heart,
I felt for Marie Scarborough.

I did not know her story,
A tale of sorrow and woe.
How she came to eternal sleep,
I truly would like to know.

There, I saw the tombstone,
Of the Speckled Moehog.
Her grave was overgrown,
Obscured by rolling fog.

Marie, Marie, what happened to you?
How did this become your fate?
Will we ever know the truth?
You were more than an engraved name.

Your resting place was disturbed,
As grave diggers scoured the grounds.
Your spirit was left perturbed,
So you haunted this compound.

A chill ran down my spine,
I felt eyes watching me.
I knew not what I would find,
So I turned around to flee.

A Speckled Moehog ghost was she,
A spirit floating in the trees.
Waving, I bade farewell to Marie,
I hoped that she’d find peace.
