Illusen the Healer

When the forest was new, and Illusen was young,
Long before spring had sprung, a sacred song was sung.

A song to bring the forest to fruition,
To beckon the sun and give plants life,
And from this day on healing was her mission.
No matter if it was early morning or late night.

Whether Petpet or Neopet, friend or foe,
When hurting, to Illusen’s you’d go.
She’d welcome you in and give you a smile,
And happily listen to your story for a while.

She’d fix you right up, with a hum on her lips,
And in every occasion offer you friendship.
The forest was lucky to have her, they knew,
For she blessed the lands with her spirits anew.

Under her nurturing gaze, the forest thrives, 
And she has many a friend with the wildlife.
So take a walk today to the Glade if you can,
And thank sweet Illusen for blessing these lands.

The Defaced Portrait of Illusen

Underneath the vandalism,
Lies what used to be.
A caricature so beautiful,
Neopians travelled to see.

Hair of auburn and chartreuse,
And cheekbones sky high.
All who laid their eyes upon it,
Couldn’t help, but sigh.

Illusen in all her charm,
And utter majesty.
Immortalized forever,
Until an act of blasphemy.

A criminal came along,
And defaced our beloved faerie.
This hoodlum gave her facial hair,
That was nothing short of scary.

A pencilled in unibrow,
And a curled ‘stache and goatee.
It made her rather shocking,
And detracted from her beauty.

Our powerful earth faerie,
Who rules from her Glade.
Was made out to be quite grisly,
Her good looks in retrograde.

Illusen’s Gems

Shining ever so bright and green,
Her gems glow like a radiant beam, 
Clearly quite rare and desirable,
Illusen’s Gems are incredible admirable!

Like the Earth faerie they look quite bright, 
In the darkest caves can provide an immense source of light,
As magical as they can be,
Illusen’s Gems fill the sky with glee!

Fragile so you shouldn’t let them fall,
They can break regardless of how small,
If that happens the magic will be lost, 
To replace it will be quite the cost! 

Like many other artefacts they are quite rare,
If you’re looking to find one you may wonder where,
The Battle Magic Shop is where you need to go,
However it will be competitive just so you know!

Always showing you the light in the dark,
Her Gems can even save you from a fierce shark,
Doing damage in battle,
At first sight any enemy will be rattled!

While finding her magical Gems won’t be done that quick,
Once you have them at your disposal they will look quite sick,
There really isn’t much room for debate,
It’s time to find these Gems as they are clearly worth the wait!

The Illusen Look

In front of the mirror I stand,
Illusen Poster in one hand.
Grooming products in the other,
To achieve this look is a bother!

I want my natural beauty to shine,
Like this favorite Earth Faerie of mine.
But how to achieve this look?
On the subject, there is no book!

Once my face is washed and clean,
I begin with Illusens Sunscreen!
My face is protected and dewy.
Texture-wise, it is not gooey!

Then I reach for my Illusens Comb,
Without it, I never leave home.
It detangles and eliminates knots -
The finest comb I ever bought!

Next, her Blue Waterproof Mascara!
On this, I could write a para.
Now my eyes are big and bold,
This product is liquid gold!

A little Essence of Illusen,
Is nice every now and then.
To exude an earthy vibe,
This feeling I can't describe. 

Finally, Illusen Faerie Shimmer!
So I sparkle and I glimmer.
I hold up my Illusen Handheld Mirror,
In order to see myself clearer.

I'm pleased with the final result,
In this moment, I preen and exult!
I've achieved the Illusen aura: 
One of fauna and green flora!

In Meridell, there is a clearing
Where sweet Illusen stays, awaiting
those who dare rise to the challenge
To help her keep the tenuous balance

Between her and her foe, Jhudora,
By fetching certain items for her.
I've long been a devoted quester,
But now I have begun to wonder...

The tiles don't grace your forest floor
Of Plushies there's no fur or paw
The clothes I've fetched you never wore
Why request swords you need not draw? 
The potions, foods, Neggs, a stamp or four -
each pricey hit I stoically bore.
Others too (not that I keep score) 
Have brought you just what you've asked for 
Hundreds of knickknacks, a hoard galore
Where do they go? What are they for?
I've hurriedly scoured many a store
For things that aren't seen anymore?

And why the deadline? Why so short?
Why would you abruptly abort
the crucial quest that you purport
is essential for you to thwart
Your nemesis? As if my fault,
No 'thanks for trying', no support!
You don't even take the object brought - 
instead, as if some kind of sport,
You dismiss me with nary a thought,
and leave me stranded, quite distraught
Do you know of the pain you've wrought
when I'm demoted back to nought?

These questions run quick through my mind
And my steps falter, fall behind.
But then you smile! Oh, sight sublime!
For you, I'd spend a pretty dime!
For you, I'll rush to reach in time!
For you, I'd write verses in rhyme!

Illusen, I am your faithful runner,
So give me a quest! Give me another!

For Illusen Day, let us go outside
Past the green bushes where Petpets hide,
To the clover bedding, soft and green
Waving in the wind, beautiful and serene!

For Illusen Day, we will find a clover
Not an easy search, to give full disclosure: 
We are looking for one with four leaves
Hidden in the grass underneath the trees!

For Illusen Day, we will sit on the ground,
Till this Four Leaf Clover is finally found
We will tell each other great stories, too
About the adventures Illusen would get into!

For Illusen Day, we enjoy all nature:
Neopia's nature feels like something greater
It is strong and magnificent all around
Neopia's nature knows no bounds!

For Illusen Day, when we finally score
The little clover, leaves no less than four: 
We will hold this plant, so very small,
And we will give it to someone special!

For Illusen Day, we will spread some luck,

And facing a tough foe
There’s a weapon you should know about

It’s the prized possession of Illusen
An Earth Faerie kind of heart
Who poured her soul into this staff
And created this work of art
 
Carved from wood of the largest tree
In the Lightwater Forest it’s true
She created a weapon that glowed with power
And a brilliant golden hue
 
Charged with magic of the Earth
And wrapped in beautiful blooms
You’ll see bright flowers and rich leaves
Amongst berries and mushrooms
 
Because this Staff harvests all of the power
Hidden within the Earth
And because of its high price tag
You should know how much its worth
 
All of your foes will cower in fear
When you wield Illusen’s Staff
Because every battle will seem so easy
You’ll almost want to laugh
 
So work hard if you can
And do your quests

Illusen's Seedling

A tiny seedling is growing, growing–
Swaying in the breeze, gently blowing.
The sun’s rays stream onto Illusen’s Glade,
Nourishing the seedling’s extending blades.

Illusen softly, sweetly sings a song;
It’ll be a sapling before long.
Swiftly, it stretches and becomes a tree–
The majestic branches spreading free.

Illusen’s magic courses through her veins;
In the forests of Meridell, her power reigns.
She lives amidst these glorious trees–
Sowing and growing love and peace.

She cares for all the injured and ill,
And nurses them back to health she will.
Relishing the earthy freshness of the air,
Her healing powers show great flair.

Brave are those who come to receive a quest–
Once completed, they’re handsomely blessed.
Illusen is one of the most generous souls,
Bestowing gifts–she has a heart of gold.

Sometimes she likes to spend time on her own,
With the sounds of the forest–never feels alone.
The rustling of leaves is music to her ears;
The crowns a canvas for the seasons of the year.

Illusen prepares the earth for another plant,
And again sings her melodious chant.
She then lies down on the cool soft ground–
Glad for the home in Meridell she found.

However, to protect nature, she can be more.
Nature’s defender must be well equipped.
A good tool kit must not be skipped.

Thus Illusen created a myriad of weapons.
They will help stop enemies in seconds.

In a trusty hip holster, it will be of aid.

If things get dicey, try Illusen’s Gems.
Give yourself time to regroup with your friends.
If you’re on the frontlines, the fog of war is thick.

When fighting in melee, Illusen’s Silver Shield will do.
Defend against your enemies, don’t let them get through!
Use Illusen’s Blade to fight back behind your shield.
Your enemies are tough, but you’ll get them to yield.

Last but not least, the strongest of her kit.
Only her most worthy friends can use it.
For the powerful mages is Illusen’s Staff.

The Earth Faerie who is generous and kind
She'll offer you items crafted by her own hand,
But not before sending you on quests that are grand

For the easiest quests, a reward of cookies with cream,
The fluffy green frosting tastes like a dream,
A few more errands, you'll find grooming items galore
A comb, earthy creams, shampoos and much more!

But it's not all sweets and vanity treats,
If you're serious, she'll equip you for Battledome feats
Destructive potions, a matching sword and shield
With which to fell any foe on any field

A staff of great power reserved only for those
Whom Illusen trusts to bring down foul foes
With the power of the Earth Faerie at your hands,
Banish evil and darkness from Neopian lands

One such foe, a Dark Faerie most cruel 
Show no affiliation to her, is Illusen's one rule
Long hours have passed in their endless fight
And Illusen won't rest until Jhudora falls from her might

Throughout Meridell, Illusen is well known
As a protector, offering refuge where her trees have grown
With her relics in hand, you too can bloom
Into a guardian who defends against those who would bring doom.

I’ll take a look closer
And a label I see
The name's writ, Illusen
This box is for me!

A gift?
So it is
It's quite light to lift
And it's wrapped very well
But from whom, I can't tell

Let's undo the bow 
That's there just for show
Then rip through the paper
Lift up the top 
Then stop.

I don’t want to sound ungrateful
It’s not like the garment is hateful

But

Being an Earth faerie seems to mean 
That I must always be trapped in green

Well, my ex-friend, it’s time again,
March seventeenth, I’ll fetch my pen.
And write to you a little note,
On this day, when your fans all dote. 

Let’s start up top, and judge your hair,
Your pals would say it’s done with flair.
To me, I’d say it’s quite tired,
The red and green is uninspired. 

Your outfit, some might think is nice.
Yeah, sure, if you enjoy wood lice.
The mossy green is so not chic,
That belt, let’s say it needs a tweak. 

“There’s more to one than meets the eye,”
When I hear that, it makes me sigh.
But so, to gauge you completely, 
Let’s parse your personality. 

You care a lot about nature,
A waste of time, of that I’m sure,
What has a forest ever done,
For literally anyone? 

A friend to creatures high and low,
A bore to them as well, I know.
The good vibes are so tiresome,
And humour? You require some. 

Despite all this, I wish you well,
Yes, even though you sometimes smell.
Well, always smell, if I’m honest.
