Random Poetry Day Special
The Shops are Turning Grey…
by i_lovee_icecream
It is a dark and dreary day,
Since the shops of Neopia are turning Grey.
First it was Uni’s Clothing Shop,
But at that shopkeeper, it did not stop.
The blues spread across the town,
Colour faded from all around.
It hit the Grooming Parlour next,
All of Neopia is sad and perplexed.
But it STILL didn’t stop there,
There was melancholy left to spare.
Next was the Kacheek at the Bakery.
His bread is now bland instead of savoury.
After the Bakery blues,
Another shopkeeper hit the news.
Hubert and his hot dogs,
Are as dreary as a rainy day bog.
But where does the Grey end?
Will these vendors be on the mend?
What does it all mean?
Do they just need some caffeine?
Then, it went all the way,
Up to Terror Mountain to stay.
Kari, the Negg Faerie,
Is feeling quite contrary!
Sorrow and sadness,
Upset and madness.
Will Neopia be okay?
Will we will to see another day?
All we know is The Void Within,
Is rattling us like a tiny tin.
We need more colour in our lives,
We must overcome this terrible strife!

The Art of a Double Agent
by sir_serene
Trust in these words spoken in Meridell,
by this Zafara who is always right.
There is a new Lord of the Citadel.
Lord Kass it is time to reclaim this shell;
invade that kingdom that robbed you of light.
Trust in my words spoken in Meridell.
We shall throw those who resist in a cell.
Let it be known, Kass will rid us of blight.
There is a new Lord of the Citadel.
Great King Skarl you must sound the bell.
To arms, to arms, gather your best knights.
Trust in these words spoken in Meridell.
Believe this Zafara, secrets to sell.
Send Jeran to flight. Bring to Kass, the fight.
Beware the new Lord of the Citadel.
To whom am I loyal? I’ll never tell
Fight, fight- until my prices are just right.
Trust in these words spoken in Meridell,
there is a new Lord of the Citadel.

Kacheek Squeak
by califorthehomeless
A little Kacheek heads on down
On the town, party bound!
All the Kacheeks are getting ready
A Kacheek Squeak, hold steady!
They shake their little tails
The elders tell their tales
For a party that doesn’t stop
They hop until they drop!
A game of hide and seek
For Kacheeks they always sneak!
Don’t need to shriek when you are found
For it’s bound to happen in this town!
Kacheeks of every colour too
Blue, Pink, Darigan to name a few
A big old party for all who squeak
Kacheeks dancing on the peak!
At the end of the night, they all snuggle up
A Kacheek slumber under the stars
Everyone loves the Kacheek squeak
We can’t wait for next year, what a party it’ll be!

Hangry
by tatyanne
He stomps around, the earth will quake,
Sleeping souls will shake awake.
The loudest roar you will ever hear–
Neopian inhabitants will twitch with fear.
The Giant Hungry Malevolent Chomby
Has not always been this stompy.
You would not believe it, that maybe,
He was once a teeny-tiny little baby.
He grew larger with each passing day,
Munching and chomping his time away.
Nothing could satiate his endless hunger,
Until he could not take it any longer.
His cries transformed into angry roars–
All he wanted was more, more, MORE!
His stomach felt like a bottomless pit,
Empty it was – he had to throw a fit.
Now he is known to be ‘malevolent’–
Anything and everything but benevolent.
Hungry destruction litters his path,
But often he rues the aftermath.
It’s not that he’s trying to be rude;
He simply cannot get enough food.
If only he weren’t quite so hungry,
Then maybe he’d be much less angry.
Poor Chomby is greatly misunderstood–
He would give anything to become good.
Well, except he cannot give up his treats,
After all, he still does have to eat.
If only he could be kept well fed,
So he would never again get so mad.
Neopia is at a loss, what will we do?
If only somehow we had a clue.
Oh you poor, poor, giant Chomby,
Will you always remain so hangry?

Fun with Faerie (Questing)!
by alagfalaswen
Should you be fortunate enough to find a hand alight
upon your shoulder, coupled with a face genteel and fair,
Be quick of feet as, just for you, a faerie's paused their flight
to bless you with a noble cause, a quest for you to bear.
Cosmetics for an Air faerie will net you gains of speed,
While faeries dark request for toys and lift vitality,
A Water faerie grants defense in trade for books to read,
And clothes will get you improved strength from a fire faerie.
With faeries of the earth, you stand to gain one boon of three,
In exchange for a magic thing; they're given randomly,
The Soup Faerie will follow suit if she gets her smoothie,
But her selected choice will see growth exponentially.
A Petpet for the Grey faerie will make her feel some cheer,
Enough to borrow gifts from another's ability,
Kaia is always looking for choice wearables most dear,
And in their stead, she offers adornments that will spark glee.
For cards, the Light faeries will raise your innate skill potential,
And Mira too will do the same, within a premium ward,
As thanks, Aethia grants the worthy battle stats torrential,
While Fyora augments aspects blessed with her royal regard.
Last but not least, the Fountain Faerie's gift is most unique,
As it will offer rainbow shades that switches one's visage,
Regardless of which quest it is, make haste and do be fleet,
And you may soon find yourself changed in ways that may be small or large!

The Mutant Machine
by theguy2020
Head over to the Neocola machine,
Win a cool prize if you're keen,
Transmogrification potions are among the prizes,
They come in all shapes and sizes!
There are three tokens you can use,
Blue, green and red are the ones you might choose,
All are typically worth the same,
There's really no change except the name!
Celebrate today by stopping by,
Come on over and don't be shy,
Bring all the tokens you can find,
You'll find collecting them was worth the grind!
The odds of winning a potion are quite low,
Definitely still worth it though,
These potions can make your Pet a Mutant that is so cool,
To not try you'd be a fool!
Don't be upset if you don't win at first,
Your luck is most definitely not the worst,
Keep your eyes on the goal,
The famous potions are worth the toll!

the rink runners
by grandcypher
come one, come all, to snowy heights, to frozen getaway
witness atop the ice the skating Bruces as they play.
from left to right they jump and slide with music to be made;
the notes they gather gratitude t'wards audience is paid.
the competition, annual, boasts fame and glory true
and so the Bruces don their skates to leap and bound anew.
across the field a blue one skirts, his bowtie fastened tight;
performs a jump so perilous the judges gasp, afright.
a Christmas one soon follows swift, all bundled soft and warm
as cheers then fill the stadium, enraptured by his form.
into the air their song is sung, each coloured note a prize
each fanciful display hard-trained, a feast unto the eyes.
in rainbow hues the Disco goer ambles to the rink
his curled hair swaying to and fro as ice begins to sink.
the Maraquan, his chance he spies, from frozen depths below:
an opportunity arisen now to leap atop the floe.
the judges clap with fervour as the competition grows,
each Bruce skating defiantly; the winner no one knows.
onwards do the skaters play as higher the points tally
and ever the excitement builds, engulfing all the valley:
a melody of sound rings out, of cheer and joy and fun
as the rink runners' performances have only just begun.

Godori 101
by 9kas
In Shenkuu’s Wonderous Weaponry
Resides the shopkeeper Kentari.
He beckons to you
Come on in come through
Let’s play a quick game of Godori!
With warmness he ushers you in
And shows off the cards with a grin.
With deftness he deals
The deck with much zeal
So let the card game now begin!
You stare at the cards in confusion
For you don’t know of this tradition.
It’s uncomplicated
If you concentrated
The Shoyru explains with much passion.
You start the first round with a card
Of Coltzan’s old Shrine, and it’s starred.
But he follows suit
And your card’s now his loot!
He makes the first mark on the scorecard.
And round after round after round
Your points still nowhere to be found.
With captures galore
He scores more and more
The Shoyru ain’t messing around!
You gather yourself as you think,
When a light bulb in your brain goes ping!
Collect your third Petpet
And that makes a set -
Hooray! At long last you are scoring!
And with one last capture you grin
For finally you will soon win
Your very first hand
Just like you had planned
As Kentari’s pride beams from within.
Applauding you for your quick learning
There really could be no debating -
Beginner no more,
You’ve learned how to score
A Godori champ soon in the making!

The Witch’s Delight
by oi_tio_to_na_globo
From the witch’s cabin, smoke curls and curls,
A Meowclops cries, its fur all in whirls.
Poof, poof! go the lights, green and yellow,
All know Sophie's brews are far from mellow!
Tongue wrap, fish pop, woo woo grub!
Before adding a codestone, she gives it a scrub.
Dropped into the caldron’s bubbling goo,
She sells it as the cure for flu!
Sophie’s hair dances in the moonlight's gleam,
Her eyes aglow, mischief in the scheme.
The Meowclops chews on something yellow,
Octorna, Twirly Fruit, Ghost Marshmallow!
Through ancient tomes, she flips the pages,
Seeking wisdom that transcends the ages.
Controlling her wand with a flick so sound,
Is that dung about to hit the ground?
No soul dares enter Sophie’s lair,
For they'll find despair beyond compare.
She needs silence, complete concentration,
Or her potion will cause consternation!
As a Droolik swoops from above,
Knocking a Gummy Rat, causing a shove.
And BOOM! just like that,
Sophie’s stew explodes, her hat gone flat.

A Friend for Your Faerie Xweetok
by bittersweet52
Of all the paints and colours that be
For the cute and frisky Xwee
The one that appealed most to me
Was always the unassuming Faerie
Compared to others of that paint
The palette is a little faint
Muted and dusky, I find it quaint
Who could have a real complaint?
I love the woodsy brownish tan
Of the dusty teal I am a fan
Imagine them frolicking across the land
Or rolling about on beaches of sand
The teal of their manes and tails inspire
My artistic mind to fly faster and higher
For a Petpet match; if you inquire
I have some suggestions for you to admire
First is the Wibreth - the colours on point
A Faerie Petpet Paintbrush is used to anoint
This Meridellian Petpet, who would love to join
Your family, if you can spare the coin!
No less expensive, but a lovely hue
The Faerie Bowla is wonderful too
A little bit brighter, it highlights the view
Of the Xweetok's eyes looking back at you
Think on it carefully as your decision pends
Listen and feel for which way your heart tends
But know that whatever you choose in the end
Your Xweetok is sure to love their new friend

A Series of Cirrus
by sportyangel3338
What you see up there is the Cirrus
From the skies of Neopia they can hear us
The look down so proud
As fluffy as a crowd
And are always ready to cheer us
The Picnic Cirrus appears in summer
Whose rain make picnicking a bummer
Thunder and lightening
Can be very frightening
A magnificent storm has become her
The Grey Cirrus appears in fall
As leaves start to cover the ground and all
It starts to get darker
Better get out your parka
As the cold moves in like a squall
The Christmas Cirrus comes out in winter
It brings cold that will make you say burr
How much will it snow
Only they know
How much white will cover the fir
One Cirrus only appears in Spring
And that one is here to bring
Giant rainbows
Through rain, the sky glows
And brings life and green to everything

Average Rubbish Dump Experience
by togepwi
They say everything is covered in dung - yuck!
But many still come to try their luck
For someone's trash can always be treasure
Yet I've only seen old croutons to my displeasure
Only ten chances a day
That's not too bad wouldn't you say?
Zeenana Peel, Squished Tomato, Broken Spoon
Oh how I long for a Paintbrush soon!
Was that too much to ask for?
I'll settle for a mere Apple Core!
I'll take any item that looks bizarre
Just anything for the elusive avatar
What is that over there?
Ew! Was that someone's hair?!
I hoped for at least a codestone
But all I got was a Muddy Bone!
It's all about patience
There's no other recommendations
So I'll try again tomorrow
Eventually it won't end in sorrow...

The Homesick Grundo
by greencheese79
The Grundo hid from the ominous sky.
The rain hurled down, the wind howled high.
The thunder was frightening,
As was the lightning,
And he awaited the storm to pass by.
Back on Kreludor he did not understand
The lack of colour to his beautiful land.
Since Neopia shone bright,
With its blue, green and white,
And the yellow of Lost Desert's sand.
Neopia was foreign to our Kreludan guest,
Who weathered the storm blown in from the west.
He came to explore,
And hoped to do more,
But for now it was best he should rest.
The Grundo never experienced rain back home,
It was always dry as an age-long bone.
He began to feel gloomy,
And worse than that too he
Was starting to feel quite alone.
Although very silent, his reaction was loud
When a sunbeam broke through the stormy dark cloud.
And as the clouds broke apart,
A sight warmed his heart
Of a rainbow arched high and proud.
The diversity of colours was to the Grundo's delight,
And he smiled widely at the breath-taking sight.
Then the sky overhead
Displayed yellows and reds,
As the sun started its set for the night.
His ears swayed around like reeds in a breeze
As he danced through puddles with his buoyant knees.
And his two-toed feet,
Hopped to a beat;
A moment he dreamed he could freeze.
Up from the horizon, Kreludor now shone.
It cast a hue golden and visibly strong.
And as much as he adored
This beautiful world,
He knew Kreludor was where he belonged.
This memory remained fresh til his years of twilight,
Captivated still by the calm Kreludan night.
For often quite near,
A bright, glowing sphere,
Was Neopia in its blue, green and white.

There’s a new mystery to solve
by ale2312
Bored of the same old games?
Well, there’s an activity I’d like to suggest.
What you may not know,
is that many are on a very important quest.
They call themselves avatar hunters.
You see, they’re never appeased,
as nothing compares,
to that feeling when another one is seized.
As avid puzzle solvers,
when a new avatar is teased,
they won’t stop until they figure it out.
No rest until it’s released!
Even now they’re working,
sharing theories and clues,
and they all keep repeating:
Keep your eyes on the news!
There’s a new post!
Did you count the dots?
Maybe Fae or Ivy will share a hint?
Possibly, what are the odds?
Perhaps we just need to wait,
for the polls to end,
after all who can even begin to guess,
what TNT is trying to intend?
Keep hunting,
we can’t stop now.
If we try hard enough,
we’ll solve this mystery somehow!

The Scorchio Warrior
by precious_katuch14
Songs are sung
And tales are told
Of the Scorchio Warrior
In green and gold.
Brightvale's pride,
The Scorchio Warrior,
Makes his mark
In Brightvale lore.
Armored and dangerous,
Ready for anything,
Even if his armor
Is probably sweltering.
In gauntleted claws,
He bears lance and hammer,
Tempered and forged
With his own fire.
He clashes his weapons,
With a resounding ring,
A message to his foes,
A sobering warning.
A Scorchio strong,
A steely flame,
Never mind that no one
Even knows his name.
