Korbats lurk outside tonight

They flock in groups, in twos, in tens
Swooping, flitting, from their dens

Tonight’s a grand ol’ night to fly
Watch those ‘bats take to the sky

They gather ‘top the trees to dance
Between the branches, sneak a glance

of fanged charm and winged grace,
a smile on each Korbat’s face. 

If you’re spotted, don’t take fright.
Join them in pale moonlight.

Dance through the dark, have you wing or paw or fin
Dance to their rhythm as they draw you warmly in

Weave through the crowd, friendly faces on your side
Dance, dance away, until the music’s died

When the morning sun begins to gleam,
They’ll leave you like a dream.

Korbat’s Night has come to an end
And all’s as it’s always been.

The Story of Niacha

Niacha, little Korbat
Ran off into the trees
Oh, how distraught
Was his playmate Koli.

He did not realise
All of Happy Valley
Would be searching for him,
Mischievous he.

His mother was at a loss,
For where was Niacha?
It has been hours,
Surely he can't be far.

But little did Niacha know
That as he waited and whiled,
He would meet three adventurers
Who've travelled miles and miles.

They found him,
Even as he continued to hide.
Finally, the Korbat
Was coaxed back inside. 

That's the story of Niacha,
How his running about
Was good for one thing:
Adventurers' discounts!

Korbat's Lab

Hi there, my name is Ken.
I'm a Korbat who works all day long.
My job is very important you see,
For I'm in charge of a game of pong.

All day and night,
Players come to my lab.
Balls in hand,
They think they're fab!

They try to take my bricks away,
I just can't let this be.
So I fly around to block them,
They are being awfully greedy.

All they really want,
Is a little avatar.
In order to do that,
Their scores must go far!

My name is Ken,
And I'm in charge of this game.
Maybe one day I'll be so lucky,
To be in the Korbat's Lab Hall of Fame!

Leading up to Halloween we celebrate,
Our favourite nocturnal Neopet.
Great big ears and a keen sense of smell,
One of the most sociable pets you'll have ever met.

Despite their spooky appearance,
Korbats are known to be rather friendly.
You might think they are scary,
But even Lord Darigan is no longer deadly.

Another notable Korbat,
The Gormball champion, Kevin.
He flings the ball with a great big smile,
Since year 3 when he had to step in.

Big leathery wings to carry them far,
And a strong tail which can make them tall.
With hearts almost as big as their ears,
Korbats are kind and brave above all.

I fly in the night,
unseen and unheard by all.
Rawr! Fear me! I am quite scary,
even if I'm not so tall.

Just kidding, Korbats are friendly!
Our fangs might look scary,
but I've never met a Korbat
who isn't as sweet as a faerie.

We're only awake at night
so we might be hard to spot.
Especially with our speed,
we definitely won't get caught.

they spend their days sleeping upside down.
Held only by their tail,
arguably the strongest tail in all of Neopia.

As dusk approaches, 
they awaken unlike most species.
As creatures of the night,
they have a heightened sense of hearing.

Their hearing helps them fly,
through the dark night skies.
Though they are small creatures,
Korbats are fearless adventurers.

In the darkest nooks of the room,
The places where the candlelight does not reach,
Where the dark creatures of the night loom,
Engulfed in loneliness surrounded by absence of speech,

They whisper that a spiderbite grants you another chance,
The crackling candlelight burning orange and pink,
In the room where the Korbats and Spyders dance,
Where the consequences of your actions might not play out as you think,

For from the ceiling there will be falling potions,
The movement of the ball against the walls,
Just as much to set the game in motion,
Playing from day until nighttime falls,

Join the Korbats if you dare,
Swift and shift to pause the game,
Uphold the ball in the air, 
For a place on their coveted hall of fame.

The Woodland Korbat's Fine Fall Foliage

The Woodland Korbat is divine!
I really have to make her mine.
This lovely, fragrant autumn friend
Is sure to please me to no end!

The wood is finely carved, and smells
So earthy, suiting her so well.
Some lovely leaves make up the wings!
Pure joy this foliage will bring.

Nice olive, orange, and crimson hues
Are very certain to amuse.
These wings, too, bear a pleasant scent!
They make me more than just content.

So, if you seek a pal of fall.
The Korbat surely will enthral.
I just adore her---she's the best!
She triumphs over all the rest.

The Korbat Brothers: Yin and Yang

Yin and Yang were Korbat brothers.
Neither really cared for the other.
Yin was Darigan while Yang was Faerie.
Yang was always super merry.

Yin hated how Yang was so happy,
So he would often grow very snappy.
Yang simply did not understand.
If they just got along, they could do something grand.

One day they flew out for a break,
So they would not make a mistake.
All of a sudden Yang saw something yummy,
So he swooped down to fill his tummy.

There was a slice of Blunkabean Pie.
It was just sitting there for him to try.
Yin rolled his eyes and said, “What a sap.
It looks too good to be true and might be a trap.”

Yang did not care as he reached out his hand.
The sweet aroma he couldn’t withstand.
As he picked up the pie there was a sound,
As Yang was pulled up from the ground.

A net surrounded him on every side. 
Yin heard a sound, so he started to hide.
Two figures came out from the trees.
They seemed shady and were probably thieves.
 
“Why are they picking on my little brother?
That is my job and not another’s!”
Yin quickly flew out towards the thieves.
He headbutted them both into some leaves.

“You better leave my brother alone,”
Yin said as he picked up a rather large stone.
The thieves were frightened and ran away.
Yang did not know what to say.

“Why did you help me and act nice?”
Yang asked his brother, seeking advice.
Yin smiled and stood up really tall.
“We may argue, but we’re brothers after all.”

Korbat Forest Ranger Outfit

The forest ranger lurks among
The rustling, woodland trees.
The branches sway and ripple in
The chilly autumn breeze.

The ranger’s duty is to find
A creature in distress.
It might be Pet or Petpet; it
Is anybody’s guess.

She’s quiet, and her ears are piqued.
She’s listening for noise.
She’s hushed and quite meticulous.
She’s full of silent poise.

She holds her black Binoculars
Within her steady hands.
She wordlessly observes the woods.
She scans the grassy land.

Her Hat is sturdy, canvas stuff.
It blocks the wind and rain.
It blocks the sunshine’s harshest heat.
It’s stout, although quite plain.

Her Shirt is also canvas cloth,
With pockets on the chest.
Of all the shirts that she could wear,
This tough one is the best.

Her Pants are hued the darkest green,
To blend with the terrain.
They can’t be pierced with errant thorns,
Nor gather any stains.

And finally, we have the Boots
Upon her robust feet.
They’re light, and made of rubber black,
To keep her steps quite fleet.

The Korbat Forest Ranger is
A wonder to behold!
She’s rugged and adventurous,
Through bleakest heat and cold!
