What is that in the sea?
A smiling face full of glee…
It’s a Maraquan Meerca, it must be! 
That silly Pet on a swimming spree.

It’s a spiky ball with a tail so long,
With tiny arms that look kind of strong. 
He has pins so sharp & body round,
I adopted mine at the Pound!

A swimming Meerca who would have thought.
That Maraquan breed, is a special lot.
Holding a trident high and proud,
With a laugh that is especially loud. 

The Maraquan Meerca’s tail propels,
Through the ocean amongst the shells…
Bubbles pop out through his buck teeth,
Floating on top of the water or deep beneath.

A Maraquan Meerca has mischievous eyes,
You know those Meercas are wonderful spies.
Self-defence is their special talent…
& they all are especially gallant.

Meerca Catapult

One Meerca yelled over the loud fray
From castle walls they watched the battle below
With Meridell's enemies starting to grow

The two Meercas assigned to artillery fire
They had climbed the castle steps to get higher
A plan they conceived was set in motion
Overturning Darigan Citadel's perceived notion

The pair stationed against the edge wall
Looking at the targets which now seemed so small
They tangled their tails to produce maximum power
Launching large rocks in this dark witching hour

Their body-made catapult proved to be a success
As their invaders slowly started to regress
The Meercas lobbed as they dripped with sweat
They proved they could be a real threat

As the sun rose the war finally came to ease
And the two battlers fell to their knees
The Meercas sighed with relief and smiled
Recounting their innovative strategy was wild

The Meerca Who Bakes Scrumptious Sweets

A Home for Gnomes

I have a bit of a secret hobby
Though it's not so hidden if you see my home
Since scattered throughout every room
Is my collection of Meerca Garden Gnomes

I never get tired of their scruffy white beards
Every Meerca Gnome is so round and fun
Sporting silly red hats and long curly tails
For me it's not enough to just have one

Here's a gnome that's standing proud and tall
This one has a worm for no known reason
There's even a Halloween Meerca Gnome
Its cuteness is never out of season!

My garden to my home are full of Meerca Garden Gnomes
I have them all, from yellow to black and blue
I'm brightened by the sight of their jolly smiles
My affections for them are full and true!

There are even toys of the gnomes
Such as the Meerca Gnome In A Box
Or the cute Blue Meerca Gnome Plushie
Maybe someday we'll get one that talks!

There's a variety of gnomes to enjoy
But whenever I feel super stressed
They are round and just the right size to hug
Which is what makes Meerca Gnomes the best

It's a very fulfilling hobby
My neighbours appreciate them just as much
It's fun to love something different
Giving my home my own special touch

A Song For Young Sproggie

Atop a long tail that springs and that boings
Is a spry Yellow Meerca that's well-worth knowing
In the haze and damp of the Food Club foggy
You'll find yourself met with the only Young Sproggie

With three sprigs of hair all tied up in bows
That wiggle and wave with a bounce to and fro
And a belt wrapped around a round and plump waist
This Meerca is ready to eat, munch, and taste!

At 112 pounds, he's the lightest of all
The Food Club pirates you'd find in the hall
And much like his name, that Sproggie is young
An underdog, some say - a hero unsung!

But do not be fooled - he is no green rookie
So don't forget Sprog when you bet with the bookie
He may be no Gooblah, but he sure is tough
He'll beat-out and out-eat any Squire or Stuff!

Gross foods might trip him, to be frank and fair
Mustard Ice Cream's hard for any to bear!
But with some Negg Stew, a fresh blue Fish Negg,
Or Bacon, or Ham, he'll defeat ol' Peg Leg!

On a day like today, let's crowd at the Club
Where pirates compete to eat loads of grub
And place a few special Meerca Day bets
On the only Young Sproggie, our fave Neopet!

The Ghostly Meercas

There’s a chilling sight to behold
Ghost Meercas are lurking nearby
Be weary if you start to feel cold

In NeoQuest II you’ll bravely battle
These violent creatures who quickly attack
But if you dare to enter their master’s home
We fear there will be no turning back

They float around the tower’s edges
In the southmost parts of Meridell
Beware their vicious sneak attacks
They won’t even give you time to yell

Their glowing red eyes are always staring
As they look for their next target to stun
And they float by so nonchalantly
It might be better to turn and run

So be careful you brave adventurers
When these ghostly Meercas begin to draw near
If you aren’t ready to battle these haunting enemies
Then perhaps it’s best to just steer clear
