Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

45. IXI COURTIER

Hints and Tips

Now here is an Experienced Neopet with an unusual ability not yet seen in the TCG. Although her stats are fairly low (well, very low in fact considering not a single stat is above ten), her special ability may just make up for it! One thing to note however is that the stats are nicely balanced. How many times have you ended up with a Grarrl Guard in the Intelligence Arena, or a Korbat Researcher in Strength by accident? The Ixi Courtier is fairly balanced, not having a stat below 6.

An Intelligence of 9 is also not bad. Intelligence seems to be overlooked with most high-stats falling in the Agility or Strength arenas (Grarrl Gladiator, Mynci Tourist). In the games we have in the office the Intelligence arena is usually the one that nobody goes to!

Basically whenever you draw a card you may choose to bank that card. This is far superior than the bank or draw decision that you are usually posed with. Essentially this gives you a free bank whenever you draw an item, which, in a deck heavy with items can be quite frequent (over 50% of the time in most decks). Usually you can waste a lot of time drawing after contests, when you really should be banking. The Ixi Courtier is a definite asset in this department.

The Ixi Courtier is Earth, so if you are going to play with Ixis why not throw in The Ensorcellator to make sure your contests are unopposed. Also in item-heavy decks why not consider Kauvara's Potion and Scroll of Recall. Finally, no earth deck is complete without Illusen, a hero who lets you re-arrange all your Earth-aligned Neopets. The Ixi Courtier may not have the stats to win contests where she is opposed, so why not move her to an arena where she isn't.

Finally, who is this Lord Kass everybody is speaking about? :)
