Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

18. STARRY CYBUNNY

Hints and Tips

I knew there was a reason that the Kougra Trooper would be subject to change... duh... it's Cybunny Day, and what better way to celebrate than with showcasing one of the Experienced Cybunnies from the new set! Yes today it is the turn of the Starry Cybunny.

The Starry Cybunny is a holo-foil card, which makes it nice and shiny. It's also a rather good card to put in your deck. Cybunnies are naturally magical and intelligent, and the Starry Cybunny is no exception. Her stats on the whole aren't great, but she makes up for it with a 10 in Magic and an 8 in Intelligence. Her 2 in Strength isn't really a problem as there is always a Grarrl or a Skeith (or a Draik Soldier) in the Strength arena, and she shouldn't be competing there anyway!

Her special ability is activated when she wins a contest that is not against a Villain. She, and all other Neopets and Heroes in the arena untap, pretty cool really. Although you cannot start a second contest in that arena after winning the first, now since Neopets have tap abilities this opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. Once you have untapped the Starry Cybunny you can tap her to move, equip, or even play a Something has Happened. Combine her with a Neopet that has a tap ability such as the Buzz Bully or JubJub Engineer and you can use them in the contest AND use their ability in the same round.

The Starry Cybunny works well in decks that use a lot of equipment, because you can essentially win a contest, untap and then tap her to equip. Consider using cards like Noil, The Ensorcellator and Illusen's Staff (especially good for Magic and Intelligence). Also if your opponent tries to overwhelm your Cybunny why not consider using a Whinny.

Good Earth-aligned Something Has Happened cards that work well include Sloth's Master Plan and Fumble!. With a Starry Cybunny in play you should always have a spare tap at the ready to play either of these cards. Also heroes such as Illusen or King Skarl are suddenly more useful if you effectively get to play them for free!

Tomorrow... a basic Neopet!
