Hints and Tips

A feast fit for a king, that is, if he has a knife sharp enough! The Golden Negg is a very rare five-point item that works exceedingly well in a Negg deck. Banking five points is really going to set you on the path to victory!

In the Neopets TCG, Neggs are food items that have a variety of special effects. From the card manipulation of the Happy Negg and the Ferocious Negg to the great stat bonuses of the Silver Negg, they are cards that could find a home in any deck. Neggs, however, work a lot better when used together. Take the Speckled Negg or the Green Negg for instance - if you have a bank full of Neggs then the bank value of these cards are increased! Great for a Negg deck, not so good otherwise.

The Golden Negg, however, doesn't rely on other Neggs. It has one sole purpose - to be worth a massive 5 points. The drawback is that you have to discard two cards from your hand, and unless you are playing with a deck that allows you to draw a lot of cards, this is not usually a good idea. Unless you have plenty of cards to spare, two cards down for one extra banked point is not a good trade-off. You could use Golden Negg with a Kacheek Shepherd and Petpet deck. It would also be good with a book deck with Travelling Library. Also, if you draw the Golden Negg with a Ixi Courtier you don't have to pay the discard cost!

Just bear in mind - banking high values is a double-edged sword. You may be closer to your goal of 21 points, but losing a single banked item can hurt you more. King Skarl, Crop Failure, Money Tree Ghosts, Kacheek Thief and Sludging Ray can all *really* hurt when you lose your five-point item.
