Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

67. JHUDORA'S BODYGUARDS

Hints and Tips

This is the first card from the latest, greatest new TCG Set - Curse of Maraqua. It will be released very soon, so keep checking the site for more information on the set itself, organised play, and promo cards!

As with all our card sets, the majority of the cards are themed around the plot, but there are quite a few that aren't. We're going to start by showing you one of the non-plot cards, just so we don't give anything away. Today it's the turn of Jhudora's Bodyguards!

Jhudora herself is quite a nasty villain, and the same can be said about her cute little kitten bodyguards, Sarah and Daisy. They are also a villain card, but unlike Jhudora they excel in Strength and Agility. The less said about their intelligence score the better, but hopefully you'll never have to play them in that arena.

When you play Jhudora's Bodyguards, both players have to choose a card in their hand and discard it. Discarding cards is an ongoing theme in Dark-aligned decks. Keeping cards out of your opponent's hand is just half the story - there are many great Dark cards that allow you access to both your and your opponent's discard piles, such as Back from the Grave, or Galem Darkhand.

Running your opponent out of cards can be a very successful strategy. Not only do they have less options in play, they have less surprises up their sleeve - and also less cards to bank. Combined with bank destruction (mainly found on Fire-aligned cards), you can get your opponent into a situation where they simply cannot get near to 21 points!

More cards coming soon!
