Neopets TCG

Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

11. GALEM DARKHAND

Hints and Tips

Time to introduce our first Villain! The Hannah and the Ice Caves plot has many, but none are quite as evil and underhanded as Galem Darkhand, the leader of the thieves guild. He did many nasty things on his way to the top, and he only gets nastier by the day. He recently found out about a magical gem that could allow him to live forever, and nothing will stop him from getting it.

In the Neopets TCG, Galem has fairly high, and extremely balanced stats. They range from 15 to 19, enough to pose a threat in *any* arena, at least in the first couple of turns. The best thing about him however is that he gets +2 to all stats for every single Villain in each player's discard pile. Even if there were only two villains his stats would be a colossal 22/21/19/23, and he can go much higher. Although Neopets get stronger as a game progresses (advancing to Experienced status, and finding Equipment and Petpets), Galem gets stronger too...

Villains are always a nice addition to your deck. They can simply have high stats, for instance Blugthak. They can be an annoyance (Neopet v2 or Giant Space Fungus), or simply downright nasty (The Darkest Faerie). The best thing about having Galem as one of your villains is that the more you have, the stronger he gets.

Use cards such as Reinforcements and Cease Fire to speed up the rate at which cards go into your discard pile to give Galem an advantage. Also, with all those villains in your discard pile you could always use Back from the Grave in a sticky situation. Lastly, try banking the Sloth Plushie to make Galem truly a force to be reckoned with, just make sure that your opponent doesn't have Jerdana's Orb.
