Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

34. BOOK OF LAW

Hints and Tips

Ewwww! Nasty. Today we see our first Book card. There were plenty of books in the First Edition set, and in the Battle for Meridell we have released two more. Book decks have never had it so good :)

The Book of Law is perfect for decks where you are playing with a very low count of cards, or for decks with a high amount of Something Has Happened cards, that can usually be played straight away. However, banking just a 1-point item can be a severe disadvantage, and discarding two cards in addition is just going to cripple you further.

To really get the most of this card you really want to bank it when you have no other cards in your hand. Cards like Pant Devil Attacks and Jhudora's Evil Eye are free to cast, and usually leave your hand shortly after picking them up. Also why not also use Grimoire of Thade, another 1-point bank item that allows you to draw two cards. Having a Korbat Researcher in play will also give you a bonus for banking a book, but make sure you don't use him when you have no cards left!

If you fancy a cheesy combo deck, why not use this card in conjunction with Cleansing Flames, a SHH that allows you to swap the items in your bank with the items in your hand. Book decks are notoriously fast, so banking mainly 1 and 2 point items and then swapping them all with 4s can lead you to an unexpected victory.

The best tactic however is simply to bank the Book of Law when your Neopets are clearly dominating the field of play. An opponent with no cards is an opponent with no tricks up their sleeves. Running both yourself and your opponent out of cards in a situation where you already have the upper hand is simply going to make the path to victory a lot more simple :)
