Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

10. FOUR LEAF CLOVER

Hints and Tips

From card (cloud?) nine, Faerieland, to card ten - Four-Leaf Clover! This latest, featured card is an Item, and one with a quite a special mechanic!

This Item is not meant to be banked. It's only two points, and it does not grant you any benefits from being in your bank. No, the Four-Leaf Clover has strictly one purpose - to help you win a contest (or more often than not, to help you not to lose!) When you play this card in a contest you can re-roll the dice until you roll a one or a six. You either automatically win, or you get a one.

This is really only a card you would play when you have no chance whatsoever of winning a contest. Well, you can always roll a six and win anyway, but the chance of that is roughly 16%. Why not increase the odds a little?

To be honest, the fact that you are discarding a card to push your odds of victory in a contest by such a slim margin is probably not worth it. However, there are precious few Items that give you such a chance regardless of the margin that you are being beaten by in the arena. If your opponent's Draik Soldier has a Strength of 50, not even a Stone Snowball is going to help you. In fact it probably wouldn't make a dent. The Four-Leaf Clover will even things slightly :)

There are also a couple of Items and Equipment in the game that do special things when a six is rolled, for instance the Spyder. The Four-Leaf Clover would work exceedingly well with that, and similar cards.

In closing, this card does not really mathematically make sense to use in a deck, but it's one of the better Items to use in a sticky situation!
