Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

22. THE THREE

Hints and Tips

Where did these three villains come from? What do they want? Did they give Darigan his power, and are they helping Kass? You won't find the answers to those questions here - you should read our plot for that :) However, we are going to attempt to show you why this is such a great card!

The Three is a dark Something has Happened. This means you can play it at certain times to give yourself an advantage. This particular card can only be used when your opponent challenges a villain, and the primary use of this card is to make your opponent lose the challenge.

The great thing about this card, and what in my opinion puts it above Feeding Mr. Scary (a card in a similar vein) is that you get to roll three dice. If any one of those dice is a 6 you automatically win. If you roll a 6 and so does the challenger, you both reroll, but you get to reroll all three dice! In short, with The Three's help, it's easy for any villain to defend any challenge.

So, why use this card? If your opponent defeats your villain and loses, surely they can just try again next round. Well for a start look at The Darkest Faerie. Did a little light emblazoned with the word Combo just go off in your head? :) Trick your opponent into beating her, and The Three will cause all their Neopets in the contest to be discarded. Another villain who does nasty stuff when he wins a contest is Blugthak, but he has to beat two Neopets in one challenge.

In their most basic form, The Three allows you to simply waste an opponent's tap. Not a great card advantage unless your opponent plays items in the contest (oh did you waste your precious Jerdana's Orb!) However, line The Three up in a combo and you can wreak havoc!

Lastly... that Skeith wouldn't be made out of jelly, would he?
