Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

90. MARSHMALLOW GRUNDOS

Hints and Tips

Marshmallow Grundos is the first food item that we have previewed from the upcoming Return of Dr. Sloth set, and they are just typical of some of the insane creations on the menu at the Grundos Cafe.

This item is a common, so you will be sure to find a lot of them in your booster packs, which is a good thing because Marshmallow Grundos work well together. Either put three of them in your deck, or none at all. The reason is because when you bank Marshmallow Grundos, even though they are only worth two points, you get to look through your deck for an identical card and put it in your hand. It's a trade off between bank value and card advantage.

This mechanic is identical to the card Jelly Aishas, however the item bonus is applied in the Agility arena as opposed to Strength. If you enjoy playing with this type of card and already use Jelly Aishas, why not complement them with three Marshmallow Grundos too! Although you may not score as fast as your opponent, you will always be sure to have an item in your hand!

Remember, there can be advantages to having lots of low-value cards in your bank as opposed to a few high-value ones. Food items usually have four points, but are susceptible to Crop Failure and King Skarl. Sludging Ray is much more effective against a four-point item, and Cleansing Flames can allow you to replace all those two-pointers with fours. However, that's not the real reason you should consider sticking to low-point cards. Oh no, there is one card in the Sloth set that in my opinion is going to shake up the entire game...

Tomorrow ... Retribution.
