Neopets TCG

Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

54. TAX BEAST

Hints and Tips

Well, you probably won't find him in Terror Mountain, but he's very scary none the less! The Tax Beast prowls around Neopia looking for unwary (and rich) victims to tax. Just make sure you put your Neopoints in the bank, as he can't get at them there.

In the Neopets TCG the Tax Beast is, quite rightfully, a villain. He may not be strong, but he is agile, clever and very magical (how do you think he carries so many Neopoints away with him!), and in my opinion a very good card. Although his stats make him a fierce opponent in both the Agility and Magic arenas, his special ability should make him a common sight in a lot of decks.

Whenever the Tax Beast is played, any player who has 15 or more points in their bank discards two cards! How's that for card advantage? Being a villain he is free to play and doesn't require a tap - there aren't many Something Has Happened cards that can do something as effective for free AND lock down an arena.

Playing the Tax Beast is a late game strategy that can really spoil your opponent's plans. Having reached 15 points, your opponent is one or two cards away from victory. Do not let them ever get those cards! Use the Tax Beast to block them off, empty their hand of cards, and then throw in a few Pant Devil Attacks - just to make sure they never get another Item to bank.
