Neopets TCG Card of the Day
Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!
Hints and Tips Wand of Nova ... nah Now that we've shown you one of the new heroes, it's time to show you Lisha's Wand, a card that will make all of your heroes a serious threat. You will usually tap one pet to bring in a hero, tap another pet to attach the Wand, and as long as you keep discarding cards at the end of your turns, you have a hero that stays in play. You can call it your "superhero" to annoy your opponent! Before we get ahead of ourselves, lets talk about some of the limitations of heroes, because they don't behave the same way as normal Neopets. Heroes can't tap to move, and they can't tap to attach equipment. Essentially, they're only good for attacking and defending, but since most heroes have better base stats than most Experienced Neopets, they're pretty good at attacking and defending. Go back and look at all of those heroes you've collected so far. They may not have all seemed so cool the first time around, since they were only good for one turn, but my how things have changed! Let's look at a couple of particularly nasty combos. How about Kayla for starters: when she loses a contest, she draws a card anyway. That way she's earning her keep either way, since you'll need to discard a card at the end of your turn to keep her in play. She has a 16 in magic and a 15 in intelligence - those are stats that will make your opponent sweat. If your opponent has to double up his pets to defend against your superhero, that leaves you with all three of your pets against his remaining one. Game over. Here's one that's almost too cruel to mention. Seriously, there's a Staff Tournament going on as I write this, and I don't want to give any of my beloved coworkers a chance to finally beat me! But what if you attached Lisha's Wand to a Grey Faerie? You wouldn't even need to have a Light Neopet in play to attach the Wand, and after that all bets are off! Every hero is worth consideration if you have a Lisha's Wand in your hand. Remember, though, that it's generally going to cost you at least two taps - one to bring in the hero and one to attach the Wand - and it's going to cost you one card every turn, too. You'll also need to beware of things like the Fire Shoyru or Locked in the Dungeon.
