Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

15. LORD KASS

Hints and Tips

The big bad guy himself! General Kass used to serve under Lord Darigan, but as soon as his master was deposed he grabbed the chance to rule. What are his motives? ... and who are the mysterious demons that come in his sleep... you'll find out soon :)

In the TCG Lord Kass is a very useful card. For starters, he is both Air and Dark, which doubles the chance that he will be playable within a specific deck. Secondly, his stats, although not brilliant, are fairly high. The highest stat of any basic Neopet is currently 9 (although there are a couple who get bonuses on your turn and against certain challengers.) If you throw in an item, and get a fairly good roll you could stand a good chance of beating a villain with a score of 15. To defend against an Experienced Neopet however, your villain should really have their stats up in the 20s!

Kass's real trick is to bounce villains out of an arena and back to the owner's hand. This gives you more flexibility in play. For instance, if you are blocked by a villain in the Magic arena you could bounce him out, defeat Kass, untap and score! If one of your villains has been moved to another arena (for instance by Jerdana), you could bounce it back to your hand with Kass, and then play it where it's supposed to be. Although there are no villains that currently have "when this villain comes into play" type effects, that would also work very well with Lord Kass.

Lord Kass is a strong villain in the first few turns due to his ability to lock down Strength, Agiltiy and Intelligence, and also his dual-colour nature. In the late game, as your opponents Neopets become stronger, Kass is really only going to be a threat in the Strength Arena. You should use Lord Kass firstly to block your opponent from an easy bank in the first and second turns, and secondly for some sneaky late-game villain manipulation.
