Card of the Day

Every day (well, most of them) we will release a new Card of the Day. Keep checking back, as you never know what interesting strategies and combos you will find!

75. GELERT BEAST HUNTER

Hints and Tips

There is a beast out in the woods, and it must be brought to justice! This guy is a Meridellian Farmer turned vigilante, searching out The Bat-Thing who has been eating his cattle. Not only that, he also makes a quite decent Experienced Neopet!

Even without his special ability the Gelert Beast Hunter has quite solid stats in Strength and Agility (shame about the other two though!) He gets a +3 bonus when fighting a villain, which isn't much considering that with the bonus his highest stat would be 14 and most villains have stats in the low 20s and above. The most interesting feature of the Gelert Beast Hunter is his ability to move untapped to an arena with a villain in!

Basically, if used correctly, the Gelert Beast Hunter is going to stop any villains that your opponent plays. His stats may not be up to it, but with use of a Sceptre of Banishing or Jerdana's Orb, you are going to be able to stop any villain that comes into play without even breaking your stride. If you also bear in mind that most villains allow you to untap when they are defeated, a Gelert Beast Hunter with the right equipment could quite possibly clear out every arena in a single round and still tap to draw or bank!

This guy is also handy when you play villains that you plan to defeat yourself. Eliv Thade can easily lock down the Intelligence Arena from the start, but if you are winning there why not drop him in Strength or Agility, move to it with the Hunter, defeat, untap and continue with your turn. Never a wasted card!
